Historically this is an important part of Cape Town as it is the site of the slave market. The square is surrounded by some impressive buildings including the Groote Kerk-Dutch Reform church. It's a peaceful place to sit and reflect in. It has a rainbow...More

I'm so pleased that this open space, which has an awful amount of historical significance, has been saved from the ignominy of being an urban car park and repurposed into this charming "Church Square". I found it interesting to read that there had been a...More

The square is right in front of the Groote Kerk. There is currently a colorful display on water awareness in the square. I love the 2 faced statue!

Church Square is close to several landmarks in Cape Town including Parliament, Company's Gardens, St. George's Cathedral, etc. Nothing special about the Square despite the name but worth a visit and walk through.

The centre of Cape Town has many historic attractions such as these and attest to the open spaces for residents and tourists alike to appreciate the city's rich and cultural history here is just another such example of the Mother City's beautiful attractions.

Church Square isn't anything too exciting but does offer a few nice spots to sit and relax perhaps before or after visiting some of the great restaurants nearby

This place wasn't high on places we visited in Capetown but somewhat enjoyed walking through it. There's a few coffee shops nearby as well where you can stop and people watch.

There is a feeling of tranquility and peacefulness when you are in the square. it is right across from the Groote Kerk. The buildings around the square is very beautiful. Very close to the museum quarter.

Our accommodation looks out onto Church square, which is frequented but tour busses. It's a small but well kept square and the main entrance to the Groote Kerk. I've not seen much happening here other than a few groups of men milling around.
