Relatively short walk, only 3.6km. The hills and descents are very steep. Be sure to take your camera and eats because when you reach the Homtini River the rewards are satisfying and you will want to spend some time there. The waters of the river are very refreshing and is a great idea to take your swim wear for a dip in the summer.

We were staying in one of the neighbouring cottages when we heard about Drupkelders and decided to give it a go one morning. Firstly, book ahead. Only 12 people per day are allowed to do the walk. The walk itself was very challenging. Very steep...More

This is one of the best hikes I've been on! Even though a giant millipede fell on my mother's head (LOL) and I screamed my butt off 😂 this was an experience I'll never forget! The hike to the river consists of a lot of...More

Well worth the hike but not an easy one by any means. The youngsters took it in their stride, but not for older folk who have difficulty walking up and down steep uneven slopes.

Not the easiest hiking trail, actually I would clasify it as very difficult but the beauty you find at the Drupkelders was well worth the journey. We had a picnic lunch and refreshing ice cold swim before heading back. My only complaint is that at...More

do not be fooled! IF you have knee, hips or ankle problems do not attempt this. Even though it's only 3-4 km's it's tough... most parts are straight down and on the way back straight up. The inclines / declines are so bad that ropes...More

One of the most unique, raw and beautiful experiences I have ever had. There is a nice 2km walk down to the River/waterfalls, and the last KM is very steep so be careful when taking your children. You can swim in the water, jump from...More

Having lived in Knysna for 8 years I am pleased with all the gems I discover every year. A party of Max 12 people are allowed but I think 8 is enough. Drupkelders is an amazingly beautiful and special place. The water is icey but...More

Steep walk down to the Homtini river to the Drupkelders but worthwhile. We can also recommend the hikes and recreational areas in the rest of the Goudveld area. It is well looked after by the SANparks personal.

This place is beautiful and peaceful. Just round about 4km to 5km walk to the river where you can play under the waterfall. Its a relatively easy walk for the first 3km, it gets really technical and challenging towards the end_ But is totally worth...More
