Great pizza!

Good food and friendly service. Nice deck area to watch the sunset. Not a great selection if you enjoy your gin like I do

Great pizza for lunch and good craft beer. Beautiful views over Noordhoek beach! Great for a sundowner!

Called in here last night, 1st August (anniversary gathering), for a bit to eat as our previous yearly visits have been very good. Upon being seated by a friendly young man we were somewhat surprised to find dogs roaming in the restaurant. The dogs were under (or not) the control of a woman who took great exception to me shooing... More

We spent a short evening at the Red Herring, sitting up on their roof top terrace. We noted the following: The staff was super nice, attentive and helpful. The view was quite nice, although not as stunning as can be the case in Noordhoek. The pizza and the food in general left a bit to wish for, but seeing that... More

First time here with friends while on holiday. Service was dreadful, waitress brought wrong drinks, after a long wait to take order!! When the first course eventually came, one of the meals was unavailable apparently, we were only told this when other members of the party were given their starters. We had to ask for them to take the orders... More

Two of us had sirloin steaks, one a pizza and the other fishcakes; very well presented and nice size portions. However, one thing not so good; my steak ordered medium rare was more to the medium side but was so tough that I could not actually eat it all. Chips, salad and mushrooms great as the accompaniment. Remarked to the... More

The Red Herring is the most amazing place to go for sundowners, with the incredible views of Noordhoek beach up to Kommetjie Lighthouse. They have an excellent canape menu (try the chilli poppers) and fabulous cocktails. They also have a great selection on their menu and everything at very reasonable prices. All of this with a great viby atmosphere. Try... More

Sat upstairs with a view to Noordhoek beach, watched the sunset and the flashing lighthouse in the distance. We were a party of 4, three large pizzas and a large salmon fish cake with salad, 4 Windhoek draft and 4 glasses of chardonnay for R534, worth every cent. The service was second to none who were very accommodating, thank-you.

The place has had an awesome revamp over the last few years and is now a vibey stylish destination venue well worth going to. The inside is bright and smart with multiple seating areas. The exterior upper balcony is awesome for a sundowner or three and the snack menu is tops too. Downstairs the main restaurant has good food and... More

Haven't been to the Herring in more than a decade...and it's still great food at affordable prices, all set in an excellent atmosphere. Waiter was a little too enthusiastic but had a very pleasant experience. Will be back on next visit to SA
