Nice setting, tasting free if you buy

Good place for a tasting of some very nice wines. Tasting fee is waived if you buy any wine. Really nice setting, also a very good cheese tasting to go with it, if you want.

What a beautiful cellar and great tasting experience. The staff were extremely friendly and very knowledgeable about their superb wines, which made it very difficult to decide which to take home. Its also nice to enjoy a bottle with a cheese platter after your tasting, especially outside on a sunny day.

Maylene was absolutely wonderful! She really shows a great passion for what she does, told us all about the wine, the region and made sure we had enough crackers. We did not feel rushed at any point and easily sat under the most magnificent trees soaking up the sunshine, sipping on magnificent wine. A few young staff members sat next... More

Was very disappointed in the surrounds / I was expecting this to be the highlight of the tour but it didn't come close - however the assistant was extremely knowledgable & gave us great information. Cheese platter was a bit of a rip off -

Great MCC's with staff who were friendly knowledgeable and passionate. Had some great wines with crackers to calm the palate. Highly recommended because you can choose your wines and the fee is waived if you buy. The Old Bush Vine Chenin was great!! Also got some Shiraz and Cab Sav... The Cab Sav barrel flavour was great.

During a recent vacation to the Stellenbosch, we had a wonderful stop here for wine tasting. It was a beautiful day--we enjoyed the outdoor seating, the delicious wines, the gorgeous scenery, and the great service. The highlight of our visit was getting to work with Wayne the sommelier. He was extremely knowledgeable, a wonderful storyteller--sharing the background of each of... More

The setting is gorgeous but we found the food to be quite overpriced for what it was. The portions were small and, while the food was tasty we felts that over R400.00 for a meal for two was overpriced when considering that one of us only had a starter, the other had fish and we had no alcohol or dessert.... this is a terrific vineyard...it's not one of the super dooper all gleaming showcase vineyards...this looks like an operating vineyard and smells like one....there is a wide range of options from standard cellar selections through to their family reserve....the people are open, warm and friendly...knowledgeable about wine and serve decent amounts for the taster...you get the mall cost of a... We were here for a wine tasting. We had originally wanted to also go for dinner, but we were informed there was no chance of a table without a reservation. The wine tasting was excellent. The sommelier was very knowledgeable and had impressive knowledge of the wines in the region and their history. Water and crackers were brought without us... More

Of the hundreds of vineyards in the Stellenbosch area that I have visited, I have never been subjected to the level of personal information gathering as at Kleine Zalze, possibly not even upon arrival at an international airport. Ordinarily, entry to a wine estate is free; occasionally you may be asked for your name and vehicle registration number. But at... More
