Perhaps it didn't help that the road to Stellenrust is still closed and you have to drive up a dirt track to get here. Also the day was wet and there was a big 21st birthday party going on whilst we were there. However, the picnic we had was dissapointing and the tasting area lacked personality. Not the best winery we have visited.

Dear Keith, Thank you for your review. I'm sorry you had a disappointing experience at Stellenrust. The Stellenrust tar road was supposed to be finished in November 2019... Being a picnic venue bad weather forces everyone into a smaller space. We allow customers to reschedule their picnic on the day due to bad weather of what we have no control over. After all, the garden picnic experience is what you expect on a day out to Stellenrust. We hope to see you again on a sunny day when the Stellenrust tar road is finished. Regards Heinrich

This is just off the R44. If you blink you may miss it. The setting is stunning with beautiful views of the vineyards and mountains.
We had the lindt and wine tasting, as well as the cheese platter. It was all delicious! Staff are very helpful and friendly.

We were part of a large group enjoying a wine-appreciation outing in the Stellenbosch wine lands on Valentine's Day. The group was well-received (welcome bubbly included)and catered for in very pretty surroundings with exceptional views of the surrounding mountains and farms. It helped that it was a bright, sunny and warm day. Heinrich introduced a selection of the estate's interesting and recommendable wines. Especially notable was the Sauvignon Blanc and the Cornerstone Pinotage. A delicious and ample buffet of cold meats, breads and accompaniments followed. All well-organized and enjoyable.

We have always known about Stellenrust and eventually got around to going there the other day! This was probably the best wine farm I had gone to this holiday.

The staff are friendly and the service is great.

We did the African pairing and the quantity of food we got was impressive. The view is beautiful and the atmosphere is relaxed. The wines are really great, especially the Timeless and the Cinsaut.

I will definitely be returning and taking more people there!

Our department visited Stellenrust for our year end function. We did a wine blending, which was great fun, and had a picnic afterwards, which was very also enjoyable. I will go back if I get the chance.

A windy day in the Cape Wine lands but still one of my favourite wine farms. You have to take a different route off the R44 next to the Bluebird café to get there at the moment and probably until March 2020 but worth visiting. The view across the vineyards over to Table mountain in one direction and backed by the Hottentot Hollands mountain range behind you, this really is a wonderful place. The jasmine in the gardens is very fragrant which all adds to a lovely experience. The heritage of this wine family is extensive and is foundational to the history of the whole area. I always enjoy all their wines especially the rose MCC and the rarely found Chenin sparkling. Their Bush wine wines are really interesting. Definitely a winery worth visiting.

Follow the directions on the website! I thought I knew better and tried to follow sat-nav which took us wrong. The road is closed so you have to take a trip round the back through the vines almost, but worth it when you get there. The selection of wines was very good, varied and delicious. We went in saying we don't usually like white wines and ended up buying a bottle of white. I think a decent stop if heading to Stellenbosch or Franschoek and convenient enough if only doing a day trip.
