Walking around the Ria Formosa in spring time is beautiful. The wild flowers were out in abundance and stunning they were too. The bird life too was lovely to see, you need to be quiet or they fly off without much of a look. The...More

If you like nature, watching birds and being out in the fresh air this is perfect. Make sure you take binoculars and watch the birds on the lagoons. Lots of species running around on the shoreline too - lizards, beetles, massive ants. The pathways are...More

Good well marked paths and information. A couple of bird hides. Make sure you take binoculars! Lots of birds to see - hoopoo, wax bills, azure winged magpie, and the usual waders. Spend a few hours wandering and you'll see lots. The parking is secure...More

The Parque Natural is to the east of Olhao, thirty minutes walk or cheap taxi ride from the centre. Good information given, easy walking, interesting features, including restored tidal mill.

The park is a little out of the way but well worth the effort. It is low key and quite but a really nice spot for an afternoon walk. Great views of Ria Formosa.

This is not the most sophisticated Natural Park but it is a lovely site and there are many attractive features. The tidal mill building - restored in the 1980s and an example of many that existed prior to then is now unique. Two hides, one...More
