This is a very unusual castle for Portugal, as the insides are mostly fully in tact and are great for exploring! Other more famous castles (Sintra and Guimarães) only have their outer walls and are built in a very different style so it was awesome to see this one! It was super easy to find and there loads of places... More

We stopped here on our drive from Porto to Lisbon. Since it was the off-season, we were lucky enough to have the castle to ourselves. The hotel is in great shape. They even have a very informative video that gives a great history of the castle. Definitely a great stop to see an in-tact castle that hasn't been completely commercialized... More

A fantastic medieval castle at about 30km from Porto. There is no indoor entertaiment but the structure is really worth a visit. The castle is surrounded by wonderful gardens. Tickets at €3.

The castle is a short walk up the hill which can be either through... More

This is a well-preserved medieval castle and fortress. The castle grounds offer a very good example of medieval military architecture. Recommended if you are in or around Santa Maria da Feira.

Nice castle but a little poor inside. Near the center and it is appropriate for short visit (one hour max).

A really beautiful castle with great militar defenses. An example of portuguese architecture though the times. You can make a guided visit or came in a special occasion such as medieval fair or the christmas thematic park.

The castle is very nice, not big, but well maintained. It does not have a museum, but you can walk the walls very well and have a very nice view of the surrounding.
