One of my favourite memories of Buenos Aires, was attending a Boca Juniors' football game on their home turf (naturally). I quickly learned that no fans from the opposing team are permitted to attend these games, (which goes for the other teams as well) --for good reason. The atmosphere was electric and incredibly exciting. How could it not be with so many loyal and extremely passionate fans chanting enthusiastically for their beloved Boca Juniors' team. I initially turned down a ticket because I thought it was a little pricey ($100 US), that is until an Argentinian friend told me how hard it was for locals to get tickets. Everyone, she said, wants to see these games, and I shouldn't miss out on this opportunity. Boy, was she ever right! Anyone who has a chance to attend one of these games should grab it. Just remember to always cheer for the home team!!…

If you can get tickets to a game this is a must do activity in BA....even if you are not a football fan, the atmosphere is electric. Ladies beware though, if you take a handbag be prepared to have most of the contents confiscated by the female security at the entrance especially lipsticks, make up (apparently can be used as a missile) they were amassing quite an impressive haul. They said you could try and retrieve them after the game! Yeah right. A number of female tourists were complaining. Top Tip: don't take a bag . The football was OK and Boca won. But the real star of the show here are the fans, the music and the singing they really were amazing. No alcohol is served at the stadium, no away fans allowed to minimise any trouble. Felt perfectly safe and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.…

Excellent visit and match attendance, followed by beer and food local to the stadium. Atmosphere at the game was very impressive for the whole game, and BOCA won 5-1.

A must for any football fan visiting this city, good range of tours to fit all bugets. The stadium is as colourful as many of it's famous players and I am told rocks when the crowd jumops up and down. There is a standing area behind one of the goals, which gives it real supopoeters feel. There are some very colourful murals of it's players past and present.…
