Went here with my brother on a week night. The place was almost empty. We sat on a table and waited forever for service, so I had to go to the bar and order. The waiter looked like he wasn't pleased to see us and was in a bad mood; the service we received was awful. We ordered a cold... More

Went in on a Monday night, around midnight ... ok so it's not so early on a weeknight, but this is one of the biggest pubs in Buenos Aires, a city which prides itself on staying up late. There might have been 8 other people there (and it's a huge place, so pretty empty). We ordered a Cerveza Patagonia, but... More

We went in a regular Tuesday..... Nothing much.... Just regular beer.... and the food is just horrible.... Also, the bartenders were more interested fighting over local teams than check on us.....

nice pub, quiet while i was there on a Saturday at 8pm. Has a lot of charm, low lighting and a big screen. free wifi and most importantly a great pint of stout even if no Guinness.

Staff were unbelievably rude and consistently tried to serve pints that were sitting by the tap when we arrived. If the pub was busy, this would be understandable but there were only about 20 people there.

We went here hoping they would have Guinness based on past reviews. There was none, as seems to be the pattern in all of South America. They do have a Celtic Stout beer that does an amazing job of imitating Guinness. We would highly recommend if you are looking for a good stout. We just got pub food and it... More

Found this bar on a busy Friday night - loads of atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff. Not very Irish but don't hold that against it. Great happy hour deals on beer. Worth a visit if you're in the area.

The bar is nice, cheap beer and great music. But dispite that, the bar is always empty. I went there two times, and both of them was like this. The bar looks like a ghost town, not a pub. Don't recommend.

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
