Nice reserva

I did not see lots of animals but some people saw a big snake before me. I saw a little colibri and multiple birds.

The ecological reserve "Costanera Sur" is within 10 min walking distance from famous Puerto Madero. Unbelievable, to find such bio-diversity side by side with the modern skyline of that part of Buenos Aires. OK; the reserve gets crowded with people seeking some relief from the noise of BA at the weekends. But you can still enjoy the reserve. Even better,... More

This reserve is free to enter and acts as an oasis in this concrete desert. There are toilets along the way but make sure you bring plenty of water with you on a hot day. It is safe to visit during the day. Oh, and it is simply beautiful

It was nice to walk this trail and to be away from the city. A lot of people go jogging here, so if you are into that you definitely should. Also, if you like birds this should be a good place. We just like to walk for a bit in some place where there was a bit of nature and... More

Very nice park to walk and hang out and especially, to have a nice contrast to the loud and fast citylife. Beautiful environment also for runners. There are some nice greens to rest and enjoy the landscape.

This is a nice and simple park with good views of the river (which is huge and hard to get a perspective on) and also paths to walk or bike on. I saw more locals lounging or exercising than tourists. On Saturday there were a lot vendors with goods and foods. It's relaxing.

I entered one gate, walked out the other about 5km later. Which I didn't mind, but be aware that it is quite a long way. Very busy on a Sunday afternoon, I was impressed with how much the locals like to walk. There wasn't really much to see, it is more of a fitness park. I came back on Monday,... More

There are two main gates into the park. The northern one is from the eastern extension of Viamonte over the rail tracks and onto Calle Cecelia Grierson - by the Bouquebus terminal. The southern one is several big blocks east on Pena Rosa which is just south of the Catholic University. This is where the weekend market stalls are set... More

The story of how this area came to be is fascinating along with the beauty of the marshlands with the tropical birds nesting. Biking through you can feel the cool breeze coming from the water with the sounds of nature dancing in your ears. If you live in a major city this place reminds you of the need to get... More

Being right next to the hustle and bustle of BA one would never imagine for it to exist. I would highly recommend if you are short on time and would like to experience "nature". Over all it was very busy and not too many options for "hiking". A great place for city lover but for the outdoor folks it will... More

Staying in Puerto Madero

Neighbourhood Profile
Puerto Madero
From its refurbished red brick buildings and port cranes to its modern skyscrapers and luxurious apartment buildings, Puerto Madero is the perfect combination of old and new. The river provides a quiet, relaxing atmosphere that contrasts with the hustle and bustle of heavy traffic just blocks away. Across the river, flanked by skyscrapers, are beautiful parks and quiet streets that make this neighbourhood a unique destination in a city as busy as Buenos Aires. The restaurants, bars, and nightclubs on the docks make it a prime spot for nights out and have come to symbolise this area. Puerto Madero is even more striking after dark, when the lights from the docks and skyscrapers glow against the night sky.
