Immersed in the sound of honking horns and the footsteps of busy office workers, the Microcentro area of San Nicolás is where visitors will encounter the true hustle and bustle of Buenos Aires, walking down streets lined with office buildings and banks. - gl0baltraveller2019272 contributionsJust for the pictureNot really much to do there, no different to what you would normally find in shopping malls. They do however have this beautiful painted ceiling, a main attraction and photo opportunity. There is a decent food court if you are struggling to find any restaurants in the nearby city. There is a great little French place called Brioche Doree and another Argentinian place that does great steak sandwichesVisited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten November 12, 2023
- VickiLondon, United Kingdom691 contributionsVery Upmarket Shopping Mall!Luxurious and upmarket shopping mall in the city centre. There are a lot of shops on offer from Fashion, to Shoes, Handbags, Jewellery, Perfume, Opticians etc to mention a few on different levels. The decor is easy on the eye and exudes elegance. They also have a very large food court with different cuisines on offer. There was an art exhibition taking place on the top level with wonderful portraits on display and also some beautiful portraits as well on the day I visited. This is the best shopping mall out of the ones I visited and I recommend visiting if you happen to visit BA.Visited March 2024Travelled with familyWritten March 30, 2024
- HappyNorwegiansBergen, Norway915 contributionsThe art work on the ceilings is fabulous, so look up!This is a very pleasant indoor shopping center that is near the obliesk and Teatro Colon. We visited the leather store and bought my husband an Argentinian-made leather belt. They had lovely purses and other leather products as well. Afterwards we enjoyed a coffee and snack in one of the cafes. The art work on the ceilings is fabulous so make sure you look up! We went after a day of site-seeing. This is the best shopping center I’ve visited in BA.Visited April 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten July 31, 2024

There are beautiful museum quality paintings on the ceilings and very interesting architecture throughout the former palace or private residence. There were three floors of high end shops with several places to eat in the lower floor food court. Well worth a visit if you have time.

Located on the Florida Street pedestrian mall, the Galerias Pacifico is one of the world's most beautiful shopping malls. The beautiful paintings on the ceilings are amazing -- it's worth a visit even if you don't intend to go shopping. After exploring the mall and its artwork, head to the Food Court in the basement to have a gelato at Freddo or Abuela Goye to top off your visit!

Galerias Pacifico is one of Buenos Aires’ nicest shopping malls. It is easy to find on Calle Florida, a pedestrians-only shopping street.
There are 150 stores here, spread over three floors. It’s all pretty standard department-store, shopping-mall stuff. There’s a food court, but we had lunch at Madison Cafe on the lower level instead (see my review, “Pollo and people”). There’s even a tango show in the building!
The building was designed in 1889 for a store modeled on Le Bon Marche in Paris. In 1908, the Buenos Aires and Pacific railroad company secured offices here and the building became known as Edificio Pacifico, the precursor to Galerias Pacifico.

Our group visited here as a pre- cruise activity to see the ceilings and to take advantage of the money exchange kiosk on the lower level. The mall is clean and offers a wide variety of stores and had a good court. Since banks weren’t open, the exchange offered the best reasonable rates - better than ATMs. The mall is easily accessible from hotels in the area.

this is more of a fancy shopping center, located on the busy and touristy Florida street. During the day, the building looks nice, but when it gets dark and they turn on the lights, it looks beautiful. Not very big, but for Christmas they had a huge tree set up.

It was very sad to see so many boarded-up stores on Calle Florida shopping street. Guess the pandemic and lack of tourists really had an impact on Buenos Aires's economy. I was relieved that Galerias Pacifico seemed to have weathered the storm in fairly decent condition. With it painted artwork of the ceilings, the Galerias Pacifico is one of the most beautiful shopping malls in the world. I always enjoy shopping here, and love the food court for fast, inexpensive meals (especially Freddo's Ice cream).

Honestly, I didn’t even go here to shop or buy anything…only thing I bought was pure happiness. I had seen images of this place’s stunning, art-plastered interior and atrium, which solidified it on my bucket list of attractions in Buenos Aires. Do you like art and painting? Do you like shopping? Do you like both? Well if so, this is undoubtedly going to be heaven for you.
I shall say no more. Just check it out, even if not making any purchases. Its location in central Buenos Aires along the pedestrian-friendly Florida Street makes it all the more tempting.

There is no question that the Galerias Pacifico is a beautiful building converted graciously into a mall. Most of the shops are run-of-the mill and if you're looking for something typically Argentinian, you won't find it here. The eatery has some nice fast food and ice cream.
Warning: Beware when you take a taxi when you leave. Stand at the taxi stand only and be sure the driver has a board behind the passenger seat with his name and photograph on it. There are many rogue drivers in the area who will rip you off because their meters are set to go much faster than what is allowed. You'll pay 2 or 3x what you should.

The building itself is very beautiful and worth a visit. The products are expensive, with the exception of the food, the food court, I found dishes costing 6,800 Argentine pesos (until 01/11/24). You see people in formal clothes and people in shorts and flip-flops. I saw.

Bom dia... domingo abre num horário mais curto, durante a semana das 9h as 21h. Sempre próximo do horário de abertura e encerramento a atividade do local fica pouco prejudicada pelo processo de entrada e saída dos funcionários.
