This Argentine tango show is held inside the Borges Cultural Center (BCC) located inside the beautiful Galerias Pacifico shopping center in Buenos Aires. Theater type seats are basic, cushioned, and comfortable. Different performances of tango are scheduled for different days during the week. Three of us went to see Pasion de Tango show on a Tuesday evening. One of the few early tango shows in Buenos Aires central area so you can plan other activities such as wining and dining at other places. One purchases open-seating tickets at least one-hour before the show at their manned kiosk inside the BCC. Cost in Feb 2020 was only $900 Argentine Pesos. Cash only, no credit cards. Theatre is air-conditioned and kept at a comfortable temperature. Lighting is good. Sound is good. No photography or video recording of any kind is allowed during the performance. They sell DVDs after the show however, we never found them. The performance included a small live band which played quite well. The dancers performed historic Argentine tangos covering several periods and costume changes. A solo male singer serenaded the audience between dances. The entire show started early at 8 pm and ended at just over an hour. This allows finding dinner later at a dedicated restaurant. In summary, a great introduction to historic Argentine tangos with no frills (no drinks or food service to gouge patrons).…

after extensive research to find a tango show to see in BA, we came across this not well-publicized tango show at the Centro Cultural Borges. we read about how disappointing some of the larger, glamorous shows were from other TA travelers and we have experienced similar disappointments regarding seating and food in dinner theaters, let alone the outrageous prices. we just want to experience a tango performance without taking tango lessons. we saw the "Pasion de Tango" show at 8pm on a Wednesday night. the stage was large enough to accommodate 4 pairs of dancers. they were very energetic and we enjoyed their performances. there was also a singer plus three musicians that provided entertainment while the dancers did their costume changes. overall, the show was very enjoyable in the small theater. the tango show is presented at 8pm on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday for an entry fee of AR$ 750 per person ($12.50). you purchase the tickets on the 2nd floor and the theater is on the 3rd floor. Centro Cultural Borges is located in the Galerias Pacifico shopping mall. it is very convenient to change money there, shop, eat and then attend the tango show. by the way, no pictures or videos allowed to be taken during the performance. we are glad that we stumbled across this small tango show and we saved a lot of money and time by not attending the tango dinner shows that most tours promote.…

Very small theater so you get to see the performance up close. It was nice performance and we enjoyed it, but we were not wowed. It was good enough to take in the feel of tango and the ticket prices are affordable. If you are expecting more of a glitchy show, go somewhere else.

The galleries were a bit strange, with some paintings not well organised, with not a lot of atmosphere, just a space to display them. I am glad that there is a space for emerging artists but some marketing and curation will not hurt. The price for tango show is 900pesos.
