The area
Neighbourhood: Belgrano
As one of the main commercial hubs of Buenos Aires, Belgrano has something for everyone. The myriad of shop windows in Cabildo Ave. will draw you in, but it is Chinatown — an area of no more than two square blocks — which will keep you hooked. Crowned by an ornate arch marking its entrance and filled with small stores packed to the brim, it is a place where colour and scent emanate from every corner, particularly during the Chinese New Year when they spill over to surrounding areas. But if you prefer a quieter atmosphere, the residential quarter of Belgrano is the perfect destination. This section of town features some of the most magnificent mansions in the city, spread out on cobbled streets lined by tall, majestic trees: a true feast for the eyes.

The peculiar thing for us who live in Buenos Aires is that it is both a tourist place and also a neighborhood where we do our daily shopping. Whenever we talk about Chinatown we think of Arribeños Street. But recently, parallel to said street and below the elevated tracks, a two-block-long promenade was created, which is really worth knowing and whose construction has noticeably improved the abandoned open spaces under the viaduct.
Along this open-air walk we will find: bookstores, ice cream parlors, clothing stores, fast food outlets or restaurants with Chinese, Japanese or Korean food tables, in addition to local foods, cafes, and snack bars. There is a variety of prices.
I arrived mid-morning and had lunch and a snack there. In the morning there are not many people to walk around and get to know the place, as we get closer to lunch time, the place fills up with people.
There are paintings on the walls that brighten and add color to the place. It is really worth it

its only a few blocks big, and except from some street food, there is nothing new. There are Chinese super markets, but you'll find them all over the city of BA. Although you do feel like its a big concentration of Asians once you're there.

Weak. There are basically 2 streets. One of the streets is for restaurants/snack bars, the other is for shops. For those from Rio, making a comparison between the Bairro Chines of Buenos Aires and SAARA, Rua da Alfandega, I can say without fear that SAARA is a thousand times better in terms of variety and price. Pay a visit to Chinatown, simply because it is a free tourist spot

I went several times, on Sundays and holidays you can practically not walk, the weekdays are a little more appreciated and you can buy baubles that at the time of buying it are goodies and when you get home you do not know where to put them.
The Chinese in that neighborhood are very Argentine.
If I was a tourist who's only going to be in Buenos Aires for a week, I wouldn't go.

Chinatown! This is another must-see when visiting Buenos Aires. This is a really neat and clean part of the city full of Chinese operated restaurants and related businesses. don't miss walking through and shopping.

SPECTACULAR! A terrible change in image and security of the typical Chinatown, an oriental microclimate that remains in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Belgrano. Before at night it was scary but now the difference and quality of the neighborhood is antagonistic!

It's a really good ride plan.
I usually go on weekends when there's too many people.
This week I went to the night, for a walk and post-cinema dinner. It was an excellent decision.
There are many dining options in the neighborhood and I really liked the new Echeverria passage. Varied options, good and cheap. All very clean, cute and bright. I recommend for tourists.

It is a nice space that includes two streets. The main one (which corresponds to the arch) is where there are more shops of apparent oriental origin; In the other you can find many more Western businesses. Lots of people, but it was quiet when we went this Easter. The prices are somewhat high, but it is normal at this time in all of BAS.

Characteristic commercial area very well built in the oriental style. You can buy various products from China, Japan and other countries.
Home products, clothing and typical foods are the neighborhood's main attractions. I recommend!

Do not go out of your way to visit this place. It is approximately one bock long, with dirty sidewalks and plenty of trash everywhere. Lots of people walking around trying to find where is the action and young adults eating cheap sidewalk fried food. A few stores that mimic Dollaramas or simply put, opened up ship containers where everyone sells the same thing for the same price.
Save for attractive entrance gates, this is not a memorable place.
