This location has an Asian style arch and that's all. Nothing else is China-town about it, no shops, restaurants, Chinese-looking people, nothing else. Plus it's very far from all other attractions. Absolutely a waste of time and cab money in my opinion.

Been to a few Chinatowns around the world but this one is quite dull. There is not much to see except for maybe the gate with the lion dogs but they are a bit shabby. Skip it

Chinatown, in Belgrano neighbourhood, is the best option if you need ingredients that are difficult to find in your local shops. You can even get kale!!! It's located near the tube, train station and there are several buses that will leave you right there. Supermarkets are great and Tina & co even has an excellent coffee shop. Worth visiting during... If you want Chinese food, you need to come here. Not hard to find. Take the train from Retiro station and get off Belgrano China, there it is with the Chinese sign next to the track. Its small but lots of stores, mini markets and restaurants. Lots of the food are authentic, home made tofu, boba tea, shrimp ball, buns,... More

Great for weekend walking or food shopping. There are only 2 or 3 streets but there are some good authentic restaurants amid the touristy shops but you can seek them out by walking on the side streets. Great Murals, street performers on weekends and if you like to food shop some of the Asian Markets on the side streets here... More

Good for a relaxed stroll. It's indeed 'just' a street full of a couple of Chinese supermarkets and trinkets stores . Very few Chinese restaurants but a couple of sushi places. But pleasant nonetheless .

We have started a bit of a tradition on our travels, when we noticed chinatown in various locations, this one however wasn't really that special. It is quite far from the main town and fairly small one piece of advice be careful with the seafood .......

I was interested to see a Chinatown in Argentina. Although it is a small Chinatown compared to other cities such as New York, San Francisco, Bangkok or London, the atmosphere is authentic. There are more than enough restaurants to enjoy good Chinese food. Souvenir shops, herb shops and spice shops add to the atmosphere.

Going to Chinatown look no further then Barrio Chino in Belgrano of the D line @ Ave Juramento walk East cross the railroad tracks & there you have the 4 blocks that is Chinatown. If you are looking for Asian eats & goods this is the place to go for such in BA!!! Enjoy :-)

Have visited this place a number of times. I first was there when the street was ripped up and being replaced. The main road is red brick nice. I enjoyed watching the master brick mason laying the brick. He was faster then the crew throwing them. The road turned out great. A must see..

Staying in Belgrano

Neighbourhood Profile
Belgrano
As one of the main commercial hubs of Buenos Aires, Belgrano has something for everyone. The myriad of shop windows in Cabildo Ave. will draw you in, but it is Chinatown — an area of no more than two square blocks — which will keep you hooked. Crowned by an ornate arch marking its entrance and filled with small stores packed to the brim, it is a place where colour and scent emanate from every corner, particularly during the Chinese New Year when they spill over to surrounding areas. But if you prefer a quieter atmosphere, the residential quarter of Belgrano is the perfect destination. This section of town features some of the most magnificent mansions in the city, spread out on cobbled streets lined by tall, majestic trees: a true feast for the eyes.
