Pricey but food was well prepared. Had the Veg Mex sushi roll, salmon roll with potato instead of rice and two starters. Pork Belly sprinkled with almonds was pretty iOS to me but hubby said it was Just ok. Spring rolls we agreed were very good. Comes with a peanut sauce and what tasted like a super mild hot mustard... This place is certainly the place to be. Over priced? No way! You get what you pay for and if you want quality, attentive service and a fantastic atmosphere then you'll certainly get it here. Pity I didn't find it earlier! Staff. Food. Atmosphere. Supreme!

Trendy little bar/restaurant, not clearly signed so be on the lookout for a staircase from the street. Food was ok but not really worth the price. Service ok, but nothing to write home about

Real 'porteños' (people from Buenos Aires) are not into coctails...That is something for 'gringos' (Americans). Argentines would rather drink beer or red wine.... Or an 'espumante' (bubbles) on a hot summer night. If you are looking for coctails, this bar is a good choice! They don't have Monkey 47, but otherwise, they are quite well stocked! Want a snack in... More

Great place to hang around in buenos aires if you are looking for cool ambiance, good cocktails and a varied menu! Sushi in this place is excellent and the wine list is impressive! Portions are not as huge as other places in Buenos Aires.

I went to Danzón with my wife based on reviews on this site. We were not disappointed. The blend on industrial and classic decor was done perfectly. The lighting provided intimacy but not stuffiness. Music was variations of electronic but not overpowering. I ordered the rack of lamb which was delicious and our drinks were served perfectly. The best Caiprinha... More

My wife and I were looking for a restaurant where we could have dinner and experience some interesting Argentinian wines. We ended up going to Gran Bar Danzon based on our web research. We hit it during happy hour one evening and the place was packed. Absolutely packed! Despite being a "local" establishment the hostess spoke excellent English and found... More

My husband and I came here for a late dinner our first night in BA. The atmosphere is cool although a tad cheesy (disco ball was a bit much). The cocktails were good, but the food was just ok...mediocre, I would say. I would recommend coming here to sit at the bar or in the lounge area for drinks and... More

Went there with 3 other people last Monday. Nice place, good food, but our waitress was incredibly rude. First I said there were 5 of us, then I realized I was wrong; we were already seated but she made us change tables. We ordered a bottle of champagne for 3, which arrived promptly, but the mojito the other person ordered... More

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
