The kayaking was amazing on this river. The wild horses were plentiful and unconcerned about human "intruders." We enjoyed swimming and the scenery cannot be topped. It was a little crowded though.

We rented our Tubes in Mesa and took their Shuttle Bus to the drop off point, my wife and I and 3 Grandchildren. I am familiar with the Salt River below the Lake and have often driven by this area and watched the Tubers mosey...More

Salt River Tubing is something everyone should try at least once in your life. I have made a practice of doing this at least once a year since 1995. Bring plenty of drinks as you will need to keep hydrated, and anything made with glass...More

A group of friends and myself spent the afternoon floating down the river through Salt River Tubing. The water is crystal clear and nice and chilly against the rough heat of Arizona. They allowed us to bring speakers and coolers on the tubes. There were...More

Great way to cool off and enjoy the Sonorian Desert. Water level and flow of the river depends on the amount of water being released from the dam. Fun bus runs from Memorial Day to Labor Day weekend. Tube rentals available so you don't need...More

We had a great time with our kayaks going down the river. Beautiful views, wild horses, perfect weather! A few of tipped out kayaks in the “rapids” but it was loads of fun. If you are coming to town you can rent kayaks or tubes...More

This year the river was higher so it was a very enjoyable day trip. Tubes can be rented on site. No glass containers are allowed. Wear sun screen no matter the color of your skin because you'll burn! Bring lots of bottled water to drink!

Such a relaxing and serene experience. Was able to space ourselves from louder party people and enjoy the ride (older couple here). Bring towel to put on tube -they get hot in the sun. Pick up your bum going over rapids or you might bottom...More

I have tubed down the Salt River and kayaked down the Salt River and there's just nothing quite like it here in The Valley. You must go early to avoid all the tubers who bring their boom boxes though because they destroy the whole nature...More

I would think they would be open, the weather is pretty nice. The ride is about 3.5hrs long again it all depends on how high the river is and flow. They will tell you once you get there about river flow and time lines.

As others replied already, you're on your own in the winter months. You still must purchase a "day usage permit" or face heavy fines. This winter has been unseasonably dry with no measurable rainfall since October 2017 so... More
