We traveled Northwest from Buenos Aires to visit the Salta & Jujuy Provinces. At first, hestitant with choosing a private or group tour, we figured that it would have been very time consuming & we wouldn't be able to see as much with a group tour. We decided to go with Poncho to show us around for 6 days. Although,... More

We were interested in seeing the wine region around Salta. NIck and I exchanged several emails and came up with the perfect itinerary. Gareth met us at the Salta airport and we spend the next 3 days touring the wine country and seeing the spectacular countryside. We had some reservations about having a driver/tour guide for several hours each day,... More

From Salta we travelled west into the Andes toward Cachi for lunch before driving south on highway 40. The Colomé winery was way out of the rural way and Garath, our tour guide, easily navigated the 4x4 over some exciting terrain. We drank Malbec (made with grapes grown onsite - the worlds highest altitude winery) then had the opportunity to... More

Nick worked with us to plan our three day trip and pick us up at the airport. Gareth gave us a tour of salta and then we headed up to tilcarra. Gareth completely looked after us while showing us the sights of the Humahuaca area. Tremendous service. Had a great 3 days with gareth.

Like many others we came across Poncho Tours via Google and got in touch due to the exceptional reviews. We are SO glad we did as we had been really struggling to narrow down what to see in the region when there was just so much. Nick was brilliant from the off. Patient with our questions, generous with his knowledge... More

We found Poncho tours on google and were impressed by their reviews. So, we sent some dates and direction of travel to Nick and Alisha. They sent accommodation options and a trip was organised. That easy! Nick was our guide, travel companion and interpreter. His extensive knowledge of the local culture, history, politics, food and geographical features only enhanced our... More

We spent three days in the Salta area and wish it could have been more. Luckily for us, we engaged Nick and Alicia Evans of Poncho Tours to guide us. Nick took us up into the Andes to see the beautiful, colored mountains - spectacular!!! - and tell us about the history and culture of northwest Argentina. When an unexpected... More

My friend and I wanted to explore the Salta Province in northwestern Argentina. We were frustrated with responses from three tour agents as they did not listen to our wishes and instead tried to convince us that their “canned” tours were right for us. Then we found Poncho Tours and the owner, Nick, who is an ex-pat living in Salta.... More

I was recommended Poncho tours six years ago and when the opportunity came to visit Argentina contacted Nick. We had a Skype call to discuss options and agreed a 3 day Salt & Seven Colours trip, with overnight stops in Tilcara and Susques. Nick also recommended and booked a hotel in Salta, picked me up from the airport and gave... More

I contacted Nick from the UK (just on the basis of his website) to get ideas for a 2 day whistlestop tour from Salta. Of the various options he sent by email, we settled on going north to the Salinas Grandes. I was of course worried what it would be like, but I need not have! Nick arranged for Gareth... More
