Interesting and well organized little museum on the Plaza 9 de Julio. The museum features 3 mummified bodies (2 on display when we visited) of children who had been sacrificed in Inca times and their bodies buried and preserved on the top of a mountain....More
We enjoyed this unusual museum, which is basically designed around the three mummies retrieved from the high Andes. The display by definition is limited but well worth the visit. You cannot go backwards and so don't forget to linger at the final exhibit.
This is a tiny museum, but has something special that you definitely don't see everyday - mummy children!
We took our kids (aged 9 & 10) to see the child mummy (only one is on display at any time), and they were fascinated, of course....More
