If you did like us, come off a cruise ship and decided to do your own thing, then a walk along the promenade is most likely what you will end up doing. We walked for around 6 miles, taking in a number of sights along the way. You can on occasions walk toward the water and there are some good photo opportunities. We were on a cruise ship and so walkedmiles along the coast whilst folk went off to see sea lions... Lovely long walk with some interesting discoveries. There is a tourist train does the same run but walking is so much better Loved it

There’s a small museum which traces the history of the Welsh settlers who sailed from Liverpool. You can wander around the headland and see what remains of their early cave homes. Worth a visit and a walk along the coast since there isn’t a great deal to do in town.

It's not a well known fact that a group of Welsh landed there in 19th century. They cooperated with local people so you can see a Welsh flag and a monument to commemorate it as well as caves they used to live in.
