Beautiful color. Great trekking.

We rent a bike in the city, went cycling for about 20km, left the bikes and hiked for 2 hours to reach the lake. I would recommend, the view at the end is beautiful.

We had done extensive hiking at Torres del Paine and were looking for something more relaxed when we traveled to TdF. This hike was just right- about 3 miles with only a modest elevation gain of about300-400 feet. It starts off in the forest, works its way past some impressive beaver dams and then climbs gently over several small moraines... More

Laguna Esmeralda is a muddy boggy mucky trail to a very pretty glacial lake and one can go on to the glacier. Best to wear rubber boots and muck on through.

Nothing like Torres del Paine but worth a visit. Decent walk and good views if you get it on a good day. Path was well marked but pretty muddy so be prepared.

Scenic views, dogs, good food, and local color. Can imagine visiting times of year for different experiences.

Moderate trekking difficulty with wonderful lake at the end. If you want to extend your walk, go around the right side of the lake, pass trough a wonderfull dead trees forest, check 'la castorera' and complete the lake path going back via yor right side again.

As a couple in our 50's we found the terrain almost impossible even though we had proper walking boots and hiking poles. We caught the bus from town for ARS 300 each for the return trip taking about half an hour. The terrain is mixed through woods and open land. Mostly muddy and through bogs and rivers. Don't be fooled... More

This hike is so beautiful and very fun! We had a rental car so we drove to the start of the hike and were there early. We did it all on our own. A guide is definitely not needed. The trail is very well marked. There were hardly any other hikers on the trail when we began but the parking... More

This was a lovely walk but you need waterproof shoes as it is not just muddy but you walk through a bog. The path is not always clear when walking over the boggy area but there are plenty of people around and everyone chats and help each other to find the best route. It is 2 Hours to the lake... More
