Wow, big hike! We're staying on the road leading up to this glacier and couldn't check in for a few hours so left suitcases and ordered a taxi up the road to the cafe. We took the path that veers to the right, straight out from the cafe - recommended! You won't get lost and so much prettier! It follows... More

For those who love picking it's a great trail! You can walk from the city center and the whole trail should take you about 5 hours (if you do it from the mountain base it should be 3hours total.Beautiful view! totally worth the climb! Very windy aka cold, even on a sunny day :)

I was taken by a guide to look for birds. You can easily get a cab to the bottom of the ski slope but the lift hasn't worked for a few years so be prepared for a tough walk up. The Glacier is not big but you get great views back down to Ushuaia and out along Beagle Channel

To walk/hike to the summit from the base e.g. from tea shop upwards, you need to allow 2-3 hours. The hike is a bit tricky in parts so decent walking shoes are a must and a trekking pole would help. You could of course walk from the central ushuaia but you'd need an extra couple of hours. I would suggest... More

You only need a cab, no advance planning, just reasonnable weather, and of course strength enough to walk up on a steep path for at least 45 minutes and enjoy quite a fantastic city view. Good and sound program . If you can overcome the one and one half walking , then the reward is great

To go up to the glacier you need to walk between 3 / 4 hours depending on your rhythm, it is going up a mountain so be aware that it is going to demand some effort. The mountain it's very nice, if you are lucky you can see Beavers around but they go out at night. If you don't want... More

We took a taxi up the mountain and walked for about 3 hours to the glacier and back. The vegetation and the view during the whole walk is absolutely beautiful.

The glacier itself isn't as exciting as others in Argentina (like Perito Moreno), but it is neat to see a glacier, and the panoramic views of Ushuaia and the Beagle Channel are breathtaking. Take the chairlift up if it's an option, as there's lots of hiking to be done around the glacier, and it's not worth it to waste your... More

We had a great family time. Ignacio the tour guide, was so helpful and nice. My son is 7 years old and he was so amaze about the ice caves! We never forget it! Do it! It is so worth it! Kuish family from Laguna Beach, California.
