It is the most beautiful green and fertile area within a mountainous location. Don't worry about the active volcano scares as it's well worth the visit.

Basically all of central Ecuador is gorgeous. The view from up here are amazing. We took a bus up to the tree house but there were several people hiking all the way up there. Definitely go up there and see the view!

Great view from outside of town. You can sometimes see ashes coming from the volcano. Evacuation plans are in place.

I love volcanoes and this one is impressive! Not easy to see the top, because of local changing weather, but we got lucky! A view to a kill!

I could never tire of looking at volcanoes and marveling at their majesty and towering presence. Tungurahua is visible from the town of Banos and if you are lucky, you will see puffs of smoke coming out the top!

Stayed at a home on the river with views to the volcano. Just beautiful! Woke up several mornings when it was crystal clear and saw fresh snow on the top part of the mountain.

these natural sites make Banos a place worth visiting. Although it is touristy and known for spring break for Chilean and argenines , the waterfallsand volcano make Banos a naturally beautiful place to visit.

This was the first time I'd ever heard and seen a volcano erupting, you could even smell it! I could even see it from my hotel window.
