We came mid morning and there was only one other group there. They had a speaker and quite a crowd though, so we took advantage of the pool lower down to have to ourselves. That’s one of the nice things about this set of falls - multiple swimming options! The walls of the gorge are lush with beautiful vegetation, and added to the amazing experience, but the cool clean water was the highlight. We all left after an hour and a half of soaking feeling utterly relaxed! It was amazing. There are facilities (bathrooms and covered picnic tables) but the path leading to the highest pool is quickly eroding away. You can see they’ve tried to use mitigating steps, but the power of the water must make it too hard. It will take some engineering to solve long term.

Not very well signposted, but is just before the bridge when driving from the ferry and Google maps is correct. Drive to end of road where two car park areas and someone who will take your 10 Tala. Walk to end of the track past smaller waterfalls to most impressive one. Lovely to swim in and cool down. Highly recommend.

beautiful set of waterfalls, 3 sets/levels of waterfalls each with their own pool to swim in should you choose to, but on a wet day like we went, roads and rocks can be quite muddy and slippery! especially on the path to the longest and last set of waterfalls. the falls are well worth the entry fee and if you're hot and need to cool down, great for a swim. water was crystal clear. however, perhaps those charging should pick up all the rubbish we saw whilst there! dirty diapers, discarded plastic bags and cigarette butts were some of what we noted. granted those leaving the rubbish should carry it out with them but if you are charging for entry then keep it clean!

additionally, we drove our car all the way in until we couldnt anymore. a mistake on our part since another car ended up blocking us in by doing the same instead of parking in a little clearing before the falls, where the signage / info board is posted by a little fale. someone in our party had to walk up to the last set of falls to find the driver to move their car so we could back up to the clearing where we could turn the car around. not an easy task on narrow muddy roads!

This was the first waterfall we hit on our trip to Samoa. We had driven in right before 5 when it was scheduled to close. The local attendants, looked like a family, were walking out and signaled us to pay our 5 talas each as we drove in. They didn't seem to mind that we were rocking up at closing time. As we drove up the track along the river, we parked to the side and walked the rest of the way. All together, not too far from the main road. A small group of tourists were just leaving as my partner and I were walking towards the falls. There are some mini-falls prior to the main falls. Be careful as the path is muddy, rocky and slippery. Probably best to walk barefoot to get a better grasp of the ground. The pathway and surroundings were very authentic and not paved for high foot traffic. We had the whole place to ourselves. Only my partner got in and he said the water was cold. The surrounding greenery was beautiful. Like other posters have said, probably best after a long day out in the heat, but this time the weather was a bit cool, gray and wet. On Upolu, the waterfalls and surrounding sceneries were more majestic. Recommend Falefa Falls for swimming and having a picnic.

Down a small road, which feels like someones driveway, this incredible place greats you. The amazing thing about this waterfall is that you can swim here and also go in behind the waterfall to get some amazing photos of the water cascading down,
If you are interested in seeing a video (incl drone footage) of this waterfall and more on Samoa. Check out MATT'YS SHENANIGANS on youtube.

Amazing swim, found the waterfall easily off the main road maybe ~30mins drive from the wharf.

There are 3 tiers to swim in, we went to the furtherest, which was only about 200m from the Carpark and we had that tier all to ourselves.

The walk is very easy, I managed in jandals and holding an 8month baby. Was also fine taking a baby in and accessing the waterfall, as the art tier had steps carved out and a rope for extra support. The toilets are clean and there are picnic tables for lunch. No where there to buy food.

The water was very clear and cooled us down instantly, if you’ve only got time for 1 attraction in Savaii, I would highly recommend the waterfall.

This is a must-see if you can. Some tips: 1) The falls are not always open. We learned they had been closed for an extended period on arrival in Samoa and didn’t expect we could visit. A stroke of luck saw them open our last day in Savaii which meant we not only could take them in, but were the only ones there! So, if you hear/find them closed, keep trying. 2) Access is well signed from the Island road. And access up to the parking lot is on a dirt road that is accessible in a low clearance car. You don’t need 4WD, at least at the time of this writing. 3) Intense rain can make the water cloudy but it cleared up quickly in our experience. For example the river water was brown the afternoon prior, but clear by early afternoon the next day. 4) The prawns nibble. But no sign of eels! 5) The site has recently gone through improvements to the toilets and trails. Both are in great shape. It does look prone to erosion and washouts, however.

This waterfall was beautiful and SO refreshing after driving around Savaii. Totally recommend. There’s a good wee bit to jump off too if you dare! (Be careful!)

This is a small place of natural beauty. I came by car, was charged tala by a boy who came out of a house near the road and then drove up about three minutes to the car park. There was a short walk to the falls area which is natural and unspoilt. I spent a good 40 minutes alone paddling and enjoying the water and the birds. It is not a big waterfall but one that is calming!
