The gardens next to the basilica also offer a place of tranquility in downtown Phoenix. Of course, the basilica, itself, is also worth seeing. ;) The gift shop is very small--maybe 150 square feet; but it has a wide selection of religiously-oriented merchandise.

A Beautiful Basilica right in the middle of Phoenix. Have actually gone there since I was a little kid. It is very old and ornate. Even if you are not Catholic or religious it is a place to see.

I was blessed to attend Mass and the Sacrament of Reconciliation at this church while I was visiting Phoenix for a conference. It is beautiful inside and out. Quiet, peaceful, a great spot for reflection and contemplation. The gardens and paths outside are also just spectacular, an oasis in the city. What a beautiful church.

We were looking for parking for Heritage Square when we found St. Mary's. Decided to go in and visit, then realized mass was about to begin (Noon weekday mass). The service was very nice and the church is beautiful, a must see for catholic families.

I loved St Mary's Basilica. The community is very welcoming and the Basilica is very beautiful. History is very interesting and free parking to be at the Basilica. It is moving to realize a Saint visited .

Phoenix hasn't much to offer in tourist terms, and it was only our sleep break on the way to Grand Canyon. While driving through downtown, we spotted this cute Catholic Church. Stopped by and payed a visit. First, it's a great photo op with palms in front and downtown high rises in the background. Inside, most beautiful were the stained... More

This historical mission style church is the oldest Catholic Parish in Phoenix. There is a relaxing green space and fountain making it an oasis in the middle of downtown Phoenix. Certainly worth a stroll through while you check out the areas other attractions.

Always a great place to visit if you are in downtown Phoenix. The bells at noon are lovely and there is a cute gift shop.

Beautiful grounds, nice little store and a wonderful place to attend a mass. I did a Saturday mass and it was great. The sound in the Basilica is excellent, stained glass is beautiful along with carvings, Altar is really special.
