This Spanish Revival style theater from 1927 is beautiful in its blending of Arizona al fresco murals with a gilded beaux-arts grandeur. The seating is fairly comfortable with a less than optimum slope, so visibility over tall heads may be an issue. The biggest shortcomings...More

This is a "two for one" destination because not only will you see a great show but you will also be able to tour the best restoration of an early Phoenix building in the city. They did a wonderful job restoring this theater to it's...More

A trip to the Orpheum theater should be on everyone's list of things to do. The building itself is wonderful to look at and see the architecture. The acoustics are good and the seats are comfortable. They have seated in chairs in the back and...More

If you enjoy viewing Broadway shows in a venue that is the right size, this is it. Although it's a classic , it isn't out dated. It is still stunning. The seats are roomy and comfortable. The sound system is right on. The seat line...More

Everyone loves this theater and the remodeling is outstanding, you will not regret going to a movie or or a show in this 1927 theater.

We have had season tickets for a number of years now for their plays. Once in awhile we come across a bad one, but the majority are great entertainment. So glad they have kept this historical building in downtown Phoenix. You will not be sorry...More

We went to a performance of the nutcracker this winter and enjoyed the production very much. The Theater is very attractive and although this was not the best dance company, the use of lots of kids, a happy spin on the story and enthusiastic cast...More

We went to the Nutcracker Ballet here. The theater has been remodled. The lobby area is modern but the theater area still has the old decorations. Was a lot of fun looking around and the Ballet was wonderful.

This place is just so ornate. It reminds me of a different place in time. We have been here for musicals, dance and plays. Just lovely. I don't think there is a bad seat in the house.

I attend the touring theater productions here. It's a step back in time architecture to classic theaters. Smallish so more intimate feeling. Not a bad seat in the house. Even if not attending a show, go see the building in downtown Phoenix.

Could you please recommend a really good restaurant open on a Sunday night near the Orpheum Theater?

Tom's Tavern is good, but I don't know if it is open on Sunday evenings. It is about 1-2 blocks from the Orpheum. Two blocks east of the Orpheum is the Renaissance Hotel and they have a restaurant that would be open. It... More
