The annual summer event the first weekend in June is great fun. Many working original pioneer activities are on display.
This museum is really several put together. There is a main building, governor's mansion, several area homes, schoolhouse, train station, plus. The map directs you from the earliest humans living in the area, to more modern days.
The museum is quite interesting with exhibits, docents giving talks and a short movie explaining the historical significance. The grounds have 9 different buildings. It is well worth the entrance fee.
Very well displayed, lots to see. Governors mansion was closed, due to replacing the flooring. Well stocked gift shop. Highly recommended.
Hey if you have an hour to kill in Prescott and like history then go here. Not best displays but still interesting and volunteers enthusiastic to share knowledge
The old govenors mansion is here. New display of the areas ancient history. One building was closed. If you don't know much about the history or area it is a good way to spend an afternoon.

This museum is much larger than it looks and takes a couple of hours to go through. Admission is very reasonable and the docents are informative. A good example of life in Arizona during the territorial days. We believe middle age children would enjoy it.
Such an interesting place that is really well done for a relatively small museum. We talked with two different docents who were so knowledgeable and friendly. We had a wonderful time there.
