The museum is located on 89, just north of Prescott. The fee to get in is nominal. We spent about 3 hours there today. There is art of many types and using many media. The focus of the art here is "Western" themed. So lots of painting, sculptures, artifacts etc. that are Western related and of Western life. It was... More

This is a great little museum highlighting artwork that captures the spirit of the West: cowboy and Native American culture, wildlife and more! It's a smaller museum, so a visit can take an hour if time is short. Of course, you can linger as long as you like, too!!

This museum has incredible fine contemporary western art (landscapes with horses, cows, atmosphere and mountains) on canvas and sculpture. It is a fine place to spend an afternoon with art and history of the American West. The museum hosts various Art Shows through the year. Admission is reasonable and there is a gift shop with pieces from local artists. Don't... More

For a look a local color, and a feel of the "old west". You can't beat this place! The artwork is truly amazing.

Took two guests and found they were only half open. They were preparing a new exhibit. What was open is excellent. The western art by Phippen and others is worth the visit. We will go back soon to see the new exhibit..

The Phippen is an excellent western art museum in a smaller setting. We've been visiting the museum since way before we moved to Prescott, and we bring our visitors to see it as well.

Many local and Arizona artists have their works on display, honoring Western history and art of thought and place. Includes sculptures and paintings, local history of the pioneer ranchers and lawmen, educational conferences and classes of cultural significance, art contests and awards in memory of George Phippen, Western artist whose works are also on display. This museum (and gift shop) is a treat you shouldn't miss! Besides the sculptures outside, the museum galleries feature a wonderful blend. Exhibits change but some, like the Western ranch, a mock-up of George Phippen's studio and the Solon Borglum sculpture exhibits are long-term. There's something for everyone, including a children's area.

A nice way to while away a few hours in Prescott. An impressive and unusual collection. And a great gift shop. I think I will give memberships as Christmas gifts.

The Phippen opens your eyes to the rich tapestry of Arizona ranch life past and present. Although I expected this museum to be a western art museum it was more than that. The exhibits managed to draw you into the life and heartbeat of ranch life and to see why artists like Phippen captured this for all of us to... More
