We thought it would be cool to visit at night considering all the nocturnal predators. But as luck would have it, our usually clear skies clouded up that night. Volunteers were our guides. We were surprised that many of the animals we saw weren't native to this area. But circumstances dictated that the owners take some badly cared for animals.... More

I do not support zoos or places that profit off of animals and/or holds them captive. The Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center is NOT one of those places; it is strictly a rescue and rehabilitation center. They do not bred, buy or sell animals. They have a few paid employees, but depend on volunteers and donations to help them run the... More

Attended the "Moonlight Tour," of this amazing facility. Even though there was little moonlight tonight, the tour was fabulous and the many animals did not disappoint. The best part of the evening was being serenaded by the grey wolves, accompanied by the coyotes! Or maybe it was the peanut butter loving bear, or the mountain lions, foxes, bob cats or... More

My family of four (including children aged 10 and 12) were in Scottsdale the first week of January. The weather was cool so I went on Trip Advisor to search for something interesting to do one day. We settled on the Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center. I believe you need to book a tour in advance so call ahead, which we... More

Having visited this place numerous times, I am in awe of how wonderful the staff is in taking care of these animals, educating the public about the wild animals and doing so much to promote animal awareness. I have also taken a class here on desert plants and that was wonderful and informative as well. This will make you fall... More

My grandkids loved the guided tour. They saw coyotes, desert tortoises, mountain lions, bobcats and even a leopard. All of these animals are loved and in the process of some sort of rehabilitation, usually injured or helpless do to abandonment in the desert. Our tour guide explained about each animal, how they got there, their habits and anticipated outcome. Fascinating... More

We were greeted by our guide, Diane. She was excellent. Clearly knew each animal intimately and found joy talking about each animal and what the center does. The animals are meticulously cared for. Their living conditions are excellent. This is a guided tour so you can not wander or linger. This is not like a zoo. But, from the tour... More

This place is fabulous and worth the money which by the way is a donation to feed and care for the animals. Where else can you see coyotes, bobcats, grey wolves, mountain lions and more that were injured in the wild and this wonderful place heals them and releases them back into the wild when possible.

I wasn't sure whether to go to the Phoenix zoo or the conservation center. I am so glad we chose the conservation center. This is an amazing place. The tour guide was so knowledgeable and mad the tour so enjoyable. Very glad we spent our money helping to save these animals.

Took my grandchildren several years ago. Their parents and my Husband and I enjoyed it. Kids were not excited--they had been to the Herpetological Society the day before and loved it. I should have done this first and they would have loved it.
