Nice area to walk, drink coffee, take pictures, or visit a restaurant. I remember the times when it was durty and ugly, and I definitely like the difference.

The patio is right at the canal. It was just remodeled and opened 1 1/2 months ago. Food is good... More

It used to be just a water channel and the life blood of Phoenix and scottsdale but this part of the canal has been prettied up and now has apartments and restaurants along its banks. To the north is the fashion Mall.

The canal is quiet and clean. Stop and take a break or walk along the canal for a relaxing few hours.

I have been staying in the Chaparral & Scottsdale Rd area since 1991. I leave for my am walk, go down chaparral and turn south on the canal. Walk behind the Safari Drive Condos (drool) and then turn left on Scottsdale Rd and walk to Starbucks on Camelback. Then wiggle through Oldtown on way back to my hotel. So the... More

A nice break for a walk and picnic after spending huge sums in the local shops. Guys take your woman there for a shopping break and you'll save $.
