We stopped on our way to Wupatki National Monument from Village of Oak Creek. Beautiful views of the canyon, and at the far end, a great explanation of the formation, and why one side of the canyon is higher than the other--there is a geological fault there!
It was a weekend morning, but early enough that there was a lot of parking available. There is a Navajo market--10 or so tables of jewelry, pots, etc. Some really beautiful stuff, made by Navajo who live in the area. I bought a necklace and a pot with wild horses on it. I thought the prices were reasonable for locally hand-made art, usually signed by the artist.

The drive was scenic, but when you get to the top, be sure to pull out to the overlook. It is well worth it for the scenic view! Linger there a while and have a picnic at this scenic spot. This is a hidden gem!

"We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm and adventure. There is no end to the adventures we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open."

The greenest part of Sedona! 😍 The view from Oak Creek Vista reminds me of home. Known as the "Gateway to Sedona", this overlook has to be anyone's 1st stop.

This is a must-stop. A lovely drive to/from depending on the direction you're coming from. The scenery is unbelievable. Stop and listen to the wind gently whistling through the pines. Navajo ladies have beautiful quality jewelry and gift items for sale. Cute little visitor's center too. OK could do better with restroom facilities, but it is what it is!

It made you think of the rugged beauty the pioneers saw, untouched. It was so beautiful coming up the Canyon and then looking back.

An impressive Scenic Loop and stop at the Oak Creek Vista Overlook. The single lane traffic in and out of the steep and curvy roadway makes the trip take 2-3 hours. I would go early to avoid heavier traffic. Well worth the drive for sure.

Great spot to stretch your legs. Note that the office and restrooms were closed in mid-April 2022. But a nice, flat hike with informative signs explaining the terrain.

I have been to Oak Creek Vista overlook twice now and have enjoyed it immensely each time. The views are absolutely stunning. I also love shopping the Native American crafts and jewelry and have purchased jewelry from the same woman both times I've been there. It's well worth the time to stop here.

Could be a quick stop on the highway through Oak Creek Canyon, but if there are shoppers in your group that isn't going to happen. There are several Native American craft tables on the way to the overlook. Closes pretty early, though. We missed it our first evening in the area.
