A great view south through oak creek but not as impressive as driving through it. At the end of the twisty incline going north you will reach this viewpoint. You can see the green valley but the view from the south is much more impressive.

So lovely from up high that I love to stop here when driving from Flagstaff to Sedona. I know I haven't been in the car long but it's a great place to stop and view the world even if you don't need to stretch your...More

Try NOT to miss this viewpoint especially if you are traveling south on 89A from Flagstaff area on your way to Sedona. Why? I think you need to see this sight yourself in contrast with the "red rock" area that you are about to see...More

We took a short drive up from Oak Creek Canyon (mind you, the roads were very winding on the way up there). The view was absolutely stunning. It's a different view from the red rocks downtown. You got to see a lot of greenery. There's...More

The view is very scenic and the presence of constant flowing water, Oak Creek, makes it different than most of the other "dry" canyons. Well worth the views and you need to be patient with the traffic on 89A as it can be very crowded...More

The Oak Creek Vista Overlook provides a great place to stop along 89A after you have wound your way through the forest. Bring a jacket if visiting later in the year because it can be rather chilly at higher elevations. There is plenty of parking...More

Traffic can make a visit her difficult. Work on State Route 89A between Flagstaff and Sedona can make this traffic even worse. Also the highway is now closed at night until work is complete next year.

If you are in the Sedona area, you must take the drive up to the top of Oak Creek Canyon to this overview. Traffic is less during the week. It is an exciting drive up and back with spectacular views along the way. The view...More
