I cannot recommend this hike enough - just go. The canyon is beautiful, there are tons of butterflies, and the hike is not challenging. Tons of shade and great for kids.

I love this hike. The entire trail is just a little over 3 miles long within high canyon walls. There are many shady spots to stop and rest. It takes some balance and coordination to cross Oak Creek (there are 13 crossings) but so what...More

You need to come very early - if not the parking lot is full. The trail was marvelous. Walking a few 100 feet beyond the the "End of Trail" sign brings you to a narrow canyon that is very beautiful dont miss it.

Beautiful early morning hike/walk. Arrived at the trail head before Ranger station/restrooms were open (7:30am) and were the first ones on the trail. Left parking $ in an envelope and wish I had brought a pen! They figured out who we were so no problem!...More

We've been going to and hiking in Sedona for the last 4 years, but never hiked West Fork until THIS trip. It was HOT in Sedona, but after you get going on this trail you are IN the forest with plenty of trees, shade and...More

Most of the trail is covered by shade. It is my recommendation to bring an insect repellent for the mosquitoes and other bugs.
