Easy at the start, this trail entails many stream crossings. There are rocks and tree limbs helping you cross in the early part of the hike, but later on you will need to get your feet wet to wade across the many switchbacks along the...More

We spent a week in Sedona (February 2018), hiking every day on the amazing trails that surround this area. We spent one morning hiking the West Fork Trail - arriving around 8:30 a.m. There was only one other car there, so we had the trail...More

This trails has easily been one of my favorite to date. It’s exactly, how everybody mentions, fair-sized, and full of water along with friendly people. I would recommend this to anyone going with a group of friends, or family. Take advantage of the walking sticks,...More

This is a great trail, but one with a total of 22 (round trip) stream crossings if you hike to the end. It is best done when Sedona and Oak Creek have been dry and the creek is low. Otherwise, you will be wading. The...More

This is an easy trail, but winds through Oak Creek over and over. Be prepared to step across the creek on big stones or have wet feet!

Must wear proper hiking boots, especially in winter as the canyon has areas that the ice/snow don't melt, and you will be crossing the stream on stepping stones 13 times going in and 13 times coming out! Incredible red rock views.

People did not recommend this hike in the winter because of the amount of snow they get. We are fit people but the last mile was VERY icy!!!!! We had good traction hiking shoes and slipped a few times. The end was worth it. We...More

Maybe the best and gorgeous trail in all of Sedona. Not difficult to walk for the first three miles. The only downside is the parking lot fills to the brim by 9:30 am and you could wait an hour or more to get in. You...More

We went hiking here during our recent visit to Sedona. West Fork is one of the most popular (and easily accessible) trails in the area. Hence, it is quite popular. There is parking at the trailhead and a fee is charged (passes useful at other...More

This was my favorite hike of the trip with absolutely beautiful views almost every step. The trail follows (and sometimes crosses) a creek through the canyon so it is a moderate hike that requires some balance on the rocks to get across. Very doable for...More

Parking was not bad. You have to pay, of course. Sticks are a necessity since you will be crossing the creek numerous times. We hiked only about half way. But I understand farther on, you must hike in the creek itself. Good... More

We will be hiking this trail among many others while in Sedona in May. We are VERY confused about parking here. We understand that there is a paid parking area for $10.00 that fills up early in the morning. While we intend to be there early in the morning, we are curious about what to do if the lot is already full. Some say park on the road for free. Some say you will be ticketed if you park on the road. Some say you can park on the road if you have a Red Rock pass (no idea what that is or where to buy one - is it good for anything else, or just this one strip of highway???) Some say you can legally park along the side of the road only IF you have an "America the Beautiful National Parks Annual Pass" displayed in your window (we will have one of those for sure, but since this is not a National Park, that doesn't sound true). Does anyone know FOR SURE what we should do if the parking lot is full and we don't want to get a ticket while in a rental car. Can we LEGALLY park on the side of the road here? Thanks for any advice anyone can offer!!!
