I've done several hikes on this trail and it is terrific. Awesome upward views of craggy red rocks, winding trail along Oak Creek among Ponderosa, Maple and Arizona Sycamores. Easy walking except for careful rock-stepping across the creek in several spots. The first crossing is...More

Please don't miss this hike. The trail head is just outside of the city. We like to get there in the morning before the parking lot fills up. There are numerous cross of Oak Creek; the trail is in a canyon so it's well shaded...More

Moderate intensity and appropriate for dogs. Roundtrip will take you between 3-5 hours. There isnt really an ending spot, so you can turn around wherever you want. Brilliant fall colors of the trees make this place a must see in Autumn. Your feet will get...More

One of the things we enjoyed most in Sedona was hiking the West Fork Oak Creek Trail. It's of moderate difficultly with varying terrain. Total length is about 8 miles round trip. Lots of fun river crossings. Beautiful scenery; highly recommend if you enjoy hiking.

This is a popular trail so you will encounter plenty of other people. If you arrive around 9 AM or later parking, which costs $10, may be a challenge. This trail is in a very scenic canyon with towering formations on either side. You have...More

Maybe our expectations were too high? This was a very nice hike...Oak Creek Canyon is beautiful and crossing the creek multiple times was fun and the fall colors were lovely. But we much preferred many of the other hikes in Sedona. We are from Minnesota...More

We did a day hike at West Fork and really enjoyed the scenery. It was not strenuous and the it is a easy path. The tricky part is crossing the creek by walking over stones and rocks. Once you cross the creek it is very...More
