Loving Nature

THe parking fee is $10 and you may have to wait a little but it's totally worth. Great to do with kids and amazing picture possibilities.

The West Fork trail is an easy walk along the creek with several creek crossings. Kids love it! Dogs must be leashed. Nice on a hot day but because it's along the creek, can be a little buggy. Wear sneakers or water shoes, although most places you can "rock-hop".

I went on this trail with my family and it was great. So pretty, and the creeks were fun to cross/ cool down in. The path was clear and maintained well. I recommend for families.

Great hike. Cooler and more shaded than many hikes in Sedona and the slightly higher elevation offers different greenery. Gentle hike good for children to seniors. Parking (pay lot) can be an issue during peak season.

The West Fork Trail is a nice trail for virtually anyone visiting Sedona. There is little in the way of steep inclines and the trail passes back and forth over the river at various places. It is really a lovely hike and the full round trip will take you (at a steady clip with a stop for lunch) about 4... More

Getting out of the Phoenix heat in the summer is a regular past time for many. If you want to walk among the trees, listen to the water flow gently down the creek and rock hop across the stream, then "Call of the Canyon" or West Fork is a great place. After reading the book by Zane Grey, we had... More

This is a nice change of pace from the other trails around Sedona. It is a fairly easy hike, but during July you might have to cross the creek with water in it (not sure if there is always water). It took us around 2.5 hours to the whole thing. It wanders through the trees along a creek which provides... More

This is really more of a walk than a hike. It is great if you really don't want to exert yourself very much. Beautiful scenery with several creek crossing that are not at all difficult. A couple of places to play in the water if that is something you want to do. There is a $10 fee per car up... More

This place was mine and my sisters first hike. Definitely more complicated for beginners than some of the reviews sound. The crossings for the creek are a little difficult. We just ended up walking right through the creek - so in other words, bring waterproof shoes and/or socks. Everything was gorgeous and so pretty. The weather was great and am... More

This time of year the West Fork Oak Creek trail is a wonderful escape for desert dwellers seeking green trees, water, cooler temperatures and photogenic rock formations. A few days ago it was 64 degrees at 8:30am. It warms up quickly but there’s good shade once you’re in the canyon, and smiles on everyone hiking. A few spots in the... More
