Bell rock is beautiful to stop and enjoy looking at. One can hike around it if you choose but it is farther than it appears. Check the handouts at the visitor center for distance.

A great place to hike. Terrific scenery of red rocks and green vegetation. Must purchase a pass to hike. Bring water, it is the desert. The trail connects with others so you can hike as much or as little as you want

Hiking Bell Rock is an amazing experience. The energy will keep you smiling for days. Hike around it if like an easy hike. Climb it if you like more of a challenge, but go!

We decided to try to get this hike in despite a rainy morning. It cleared up a little and we decided to go for it as the temperature was in the low 70's. It was a little over four miles and took about 2-1/2 hours....More

Best to enter visitor center north of Bell rock unless you looking for for a long hike; Also easier to find a place to park. If your a senior, your park pass proves beneficial indeed. This is true for all of vortex areas. Finally, it...More

This city is a nature-lover's DREAM ... even though it's not about trees and flowers. This 'red' rock is absolutely stunning as it first comes into view, and then just keeps getting better. Wish I could afford to move here!!

Such a cool hike and at times gets your heart pumping with nervous excitement. You have to make the call at times to decide which route to take up the "bell." Slippery parts but fantastic views.

We stayed in Sedona for a short time so we decided to see Bell Rock. The rock is stunning & we enjoyed our hike around it. The views are spectacular! We chatted with some nice people on the trail. Highly recommend visiting Bell Rock.

So beautiful and walkable! We saw snow one day and 80 degrees the next day. The canyons are amazing in both but the weather changes here are very interesting!

Can you see Bell Rock and drive the Oak creek Canyon and still have time to see Cathedral Rock? How far appart are they and how best to plan a day. Which is better to see at sunset?

Sure, as you can as far or as short as you would like on the hike. There are benches and places to sit. I myself did not go up the rock but rather took pictures of my family that did. Just the surrounding area is amazing... More

Hi Michelle, My name is Roselia, I live in Long Beach, CA. Planning a trip to Sedona, then on to Santa Fe. We're traveling with two Yorkies and looking for activities that we can do with the fur babies. I saw a picture of a little furry friend and thought I'd ask your opinion on Sedona. Thanks!

Hello, I'm from the L.A. area as well. A friend and I did a 6 day trip to Sedona and Grand Canyon. Although we did not travel with any furry friends, we did notice that Sedona seems to be very pet friendly. There were water... More
