The walk wasn't difficult but it was very very long. Beautiful vistas along the way made it go faster. Very different climate on each sod of the mountain, one side was sunny and quite warm and the other side was cold and windy

Coming to Sedona? Be sure and visit Airport Mesa. Watch planes land and take off and enjoy dinner at Mesa Grill. Then on the way down, stop and see the amazing Sedona Sunset.

Hard to describe the feeling I got from visiting this spot. When you get up to the viewing area you go as far up as you care to, but there is always lots to see and reflect upon. When I spent some time there, I looked down and swore I saw Brigadoon down below! Kept waiting for Gene Kelly to... More

If you're looking for a fantastic view and virtually no hiking/walking to get there, this is a great place to visit. Many people discount this place because it's an airport. Simply take the road all the way up to the Sedona Airport Outlook. There's a plenty of unpaved parking space but you'll have to pay a small parking fee. You... More

The Free parking holds a handful of cars and fills up most anytime during the day and especially sunset. On the top of the hill is a parking area run by the Airport where most people congregate at sunset and fee is $3. to park. Many people arrive up to an hour before sunset to claim their spot and hog... More

One of the best views in the Sedona area. Nice trail, fairly easy even if your not a hiker. Beautiful picture opportunities and cheap! $3 to park.

I thought I had seen sunsets before, but this was a SUNSET!!! Don't miss the chance at least one night when you're in Sedona. Also a great time to meet other travelers.

Mesa Grill may surprise some visitors as it is off the beaten path at the airport but definitely worth the short drive to the top of the mesa. Their creative menu has a few surprises and also some standard fare such as a terrific hamburger and chicken tortilla soup. We are almost annual visitors to Sedona who never miss the... More

We drove up here to take photos of the sunset lighting of the rocks. Nice spot for this. Bypass the big parking lot on the right that charges and go past to the airport itself. If you want to shoot toward the sunset, you can walk thru the big lot for free. There is a restaurant that is probably good... More

Our first drive there was near sunset but it was so crowded. Went the next day, late day and had the place pretty much for our selves. Just took in the 360 degree panorama. Just about everywhere in Sedona has spectacular views.
