When trails closer to Sedona were already oversubscribed we found ample parking at the mouth of Fay Canyon. After entering this exquisite trail on a day when foot traffic was light we were intrigued by what appeared to be a man clearing his throat in...More

This short, easy trail has a very high ratio of beauty to effort. Easy parking, restroom in the parking lot, pretty flat trail, and beautiful red rock views constantly even from the parking lot. The trail is great for children and may even be okay...More

Our family of four (11 year old and 9 year old) found this to be an easy, fun and rewarding hike. About halfway in, there is a side trail that involves a more challenging climb to a very cool arch. At the end of the...More

This 2 mile round trip main trail is nearly level and well marked. It has a fair amount of shade. The side trail to the arch is not well marked and has lots of cactus, so it may not be suitable for children.

WE didn't arrive until almost 4pm in Dec., and sundown was at 5:20pm, but we enjoyed the hike very much!

This was a beautiful, short canyon hike. Don't go expecting to see the natural bridge, though. The cacti have taken over the trail up to the arch.

This short hike has many great features - take the side trail about 1/4 mile in to hike up to the arch to get away from the busy trail. Once at the end of the trail (sign to mark the end), a brief rock scramble...More

This is an easy, short hike that was perfect for us. It's beautiful, with a clearly marked trail that goes into the canyon. The youngest kid in our group was 7, and she easily hiked it without any issue. It would also be appropriate for...More
