First parking is limited. Great views right up close especially of the coffee pot. A few tips it runs together with Sugarloaf for awhile. There is one tricky part. You will come out on a ledge houses down below and the red rocks straight ahead. There is a trail sign off to the right going down into the valley. This is not the Teacup trail. Turn to your left and look at about 11:00 the trail continues. Stick with it and it loops around back into the trail. We walked maybe two miles all together

We are a couple in our 60's hiking around Sedona for a month. In that time, we have done over a dozen hikes and this one was one of the most interesting. We both liked this trail because of the high payoff in great views versus the effort involved. This is a great easy trail for families, seniors, or anyone who wants to start with an easy hike to get their body acclimated to the hiking in Sedona. We did teapot/coffeepot and the Summit loop to see the sights. A side trip up the summit of a small mound is also available for even better views. Very nice hike.

We are staying in a VRBO home within walking distance. This is a nice morning hike. Great view from top of Sugar Loaf Mountain.

Our initial goal was to look for the Keyhole Cave. Off the beaten track. You can see it from the start of the trailhead at Sugarloaf trailhead but that was it. These trails all link. Few spots to park in this residential area. Lots of dog walkers and people going up to top of Sugarloaf summit. We started going straight and thru river beds and thick bush as we aimed for the caves . Ended up getting lost and it was too prickily to continue as the sun would set in an hr or so. So we got up toward the Teacup trail and got to a nice mesa area looking at Coffee pot. (to the right of Thunder mountain). Not what we aimed for but better than nothing. Followed trail back down as getting late and hooked back up to turn off to Sugarloaf summit. We passed it and got back to car.
The TH to sugarloaf is right off 89A in west sedona so nice quick place to get to. People go up to tiny summit to watch sunset or rise.
Quick friendly walk (not hike) if doing from sugarloaf. Bit more of a walk if doing teacup. Forget the keyhole caves unless adventurous and have lots of time to explore.
hope this helps

We did this hike several times. It was a favorite because it was off the path of 89 but many people seemed to know about it. It was easy to park and was a very comfortable hike. The trail is well marked also.

Located against a Sedona neighborhood, this trail seems to be a favorite with locals for family hikes & walking the dog. It is fairly mellow in terms of difficulty--footing, elevation gain/loss and distance. The fact that it loops back to the start makes it a good short outing.

We hiked with our family & had a great time. Kind of hard to find, as you have to go through a residential area.
We went in about a mile, and came back. Beautiful sights, and nothing too strenuous. The kids, ages 3 & 5, could walk on the terrain fine.
Had lunch out here and then walked back. About three hours total with all the stops taking pictures and admiring the trees and other vegetation.

Did this with my 82 year old dad. He did well but tripped because he was rushing and ended up in cactus.
After pulling the spines we still called it a good day.

We were looking for a short hike to do on a very hot day. So we found the teacup trail. This hike is underrated.
Yes it is short 2 miles with a few very small climbs but the 360 degree view was just beautiful.
I did not expect see this. You start on the teacup trail and go to the Sugarloaf trail and climb to the top and you will see the most beautiful 350 degree view!
This is a must do if you are looking for a short easy hike with the most magnificent scenery you have ever seen.

Trailhead is a bit difficult to find, and the parking lot was closed for reconstruction, so we had to park on the street. We used the Teacup Trail to find access to the unmarked Coffepot trail and great views of Sedona. Easy walk to the ledges below the Coffeepot...gets narrow....go until you run out of confidence. Return the way you came. 1-2 hours depending on how long you linger.

Hi there - I'm doing some searching on google earth and google maps and trying to figure out connection points for this trail. My question is - I plan to do the devils kitchen sinkhole trail, up the to 7 sacred pools. On the way back to the trailhead it LOOKS like I can head down the sinkhole trail, walk over the service road and connect with the teacup trail. All of my views from google make it look like it connects, but I can't zoom in close enough or get street view to tell for sure. I want to be able to walk part of teacup, turn back around and head back to sinkhole parking. Appreciate the help.

Hi some one else may know better but I don’t believe they connect. At one point there is an unmarked trail from the teacup that goes down a steep hill in that direction but I do not know if it connects. The teacup is an easy fairly short trail with great views. Parking can be a challenge. Suggest you download the alltrails hiking app it’s maps are good. Plus being in an urban area you can carry it and follow yourself on the trail
