Check if Hw 130 to Kalapana is open. If yes you may drive to there and ask locals about the lava flow status in the area. They may not be allowed to guide you to the lava though but can provide a good advice. And yes it’s a... More

Aloha Kelly Per our insurance requirements the child must be at least 8 years old and capable of completing the hike on there own. Hope this helps Thanks Scott
