We went just for the day to watch hummingbirds. Mr. Beatty was taking another guest up the canyon trail to see the resident pair of Spotted Owls and offered that we could come along. That many is amazing.. he is at least in his 80s and he just went up the steep rocky trail with no pauses. I hope to... More

We went to this property for bird and hummingbird watching (did not stay there). They have a lovely viewing area (which is up a rather steep path with ropes to help ensure you keep your balance). Well worth the walk to the viewing area! We saw so many different species - and they come right up into your face (literally)!!... More

We went here to see hummingbirds. The CAS area was the place to be. Birds buzzing all around us! It was late March so we knew there would not be a large variety of hummers. Saw 5 different varieties - Magnificent, Broad-billed, Broad tailed, Black throated, and Calliope. We met the owner, Tom senior. He was a very pleasant man... More

I was lucky enough to wander up to the seating area with Tom Sr. being there. He was able to identify many of the hummingbirds (really all of them, but I wasn't good at telling the difference between the birds) and we even had two different types of woodpeckers visit as well. He told me about the fires and the... More

Even though it isn't yet time for the Migration, there was an astonishing number of different species of Hummingbirds to view. Viewing is made much easier by having a covered bleacher so you can sit and watch for hours. We were there nearly 3 hours and only left since we were getting hungry. We say Broadbilled, Anna's, White Eared, Broad... More

This is a great place to see the Magnificent Hummingbird. It's just a short dirt road off of Highway 90 up Miller Canyon Road only a couple of miles. A passenger car can make it fine just take it slow as there are some ruts in the road from the rains. Park at the end of the road on the... More

This is the premier spot in Southeastern Arizona for viewing hummingbirds. The Beatty's maintain a great selection of feeders in a viewing area that features comfortable covered seating. The fee of $5 per person is modest considering the effort expended to keep this site up and running. You can also hike up into Miller Canyon and view the many other... More
