The Goodenough Mine is one of the twenty five producing silver mines in the Tombstone Mining District, which started the mining boom which resulted in the incorporation of the City of Tombstone. When you take the tour, you will be shown through the original 1879 workings by a knowledgeable guide, and learn all about nineteenth century hard rock silver mining. You'll see what the ore looked like, learn about how it was processed, see some beautiful rocks and minerals, and artifacts and structures that have been in place for 130 years. This is one of the mines owned by Ed Schieffelin, the founder of the town, part of the Tombstone Mill and Mining Company, which he founded as well. The Goodenough Mine Tour is the most authentic and unique attraction in the City of Tombstone, and you'll see the results of the hard work of the miners. It's an experience that you will enjoy.

Thus mine tour was very interesting. I would not bring small children as there is alot of walking and stair climbing and those that were there became restless. The tour was very interesting and informative about the historic start of the town of Tombstone. Very much worth the admission price. I would put it on the don't miss list of... More

Took the standard tour and Queen Mine in Bisbee is better. They do advertise more strenuous tours that would be great for families with older children

The tour is of an old silver mine that produced more than a million dollars worth of silver. The guide was very knowledgeable and provided a very good tour with great information. The only issue is the tour group was too large and they allowed children that were too small (and slow) which made it difficult to move around in... More

Well done. Informative and interesting. Gives you a perspective of True Grit miners had when everything was human labor. And exploring the mine was really neat!

Walking into the mines gives a great 25 degree break from the hot temperatures of the summer, plus a great history lesson of Tombstone and its founding.

Our guide was Mongo who took us into the depths of Ed Shiefflen's 1879 Good Enough silver mine. Mongo gave us fun insights into the lives of the miners and interesting information on the geology of the mine. Great Tour! He also knows a little something about the Antelope Jackrabbit (ha).

Did the 45 minute tour with my family and kids. The tour guide was funny and informative. The history of the mines and artifacts still down there was great. I would love to go back and do the 7 hour tour.

This may have been my favorite part of our visit to tombstone. Was fascinating to see and hear about the kind of conditions the miners were working under, Mongo is an excellent guide, and his personality seems a perfect fit for the attraction. Strong recommendation.
