The Dam & the visitors center are well worth a visit. But please, when you go, question whether the dam should have ever been built, think about the myriad shortcomings of theColorado Compact that allocates water (& more water than usually flows annually) to the states on the River, and imagine how beautiful the (submerged) hundreds of miles of Glen... Spent three days on visits around the dam, starting at the Carl Hayden visitor center watching the three movies, taking the dam tour, next day doing the Lake Powell boat tour and visiting the dam on the lake side and viewing from the water. Third day we took a float boat trip and that started at the very base of... More

Nice little tour. The gentleman who gave us the tour had worked there most of his life as an engineer. You can only tour the top of the dam due to construction of the elevator. Some interesting films also. Good place to stop.

Went with our grandchildren. We all enjoyed it and it is a nice quick break in our travel from Utah to the Grand Canyon. We really enjoyed the movie. If you're ready for a break make this one of your stops. It's just outside of Page, AZ.

Last day of our week long road trip, we stayed in Page the night before just so that we could do the dam tour. They are under construction/ remodel at the Visitors center right now so only the 1/2 tour was offered, but the young lady Rachael, who was our tour guide was really good, very informed, and knowledgeable. It... More

The view of the dam and bridge is awesome. They have a clean bathroom, and the air conditioning is very nice, especially in the summer heat. We didn't have time for the dam tour, but we watched short movie on the building of the dam. You can walk the rim of the dam; Glen Canyon Dam is a smaller version... More

The tour guide of 80 plus years was great. He knew everything about the dam and offered so much insights and personal touches to his stories about the dam, the construction, the costs and the return on investment. It kept adults and teenagers entertained. Would highly recommend this tour for some great pics and to learn a little about history.

My first time seeing a dam so close and personal. It so incredible!!! Go to the visitors center and right at the back of the building you'll get a better view of the Glen Canyon Dam and some parts of Lake Powell.
