We loved everything about this store. First, it has been created by members of the community of Santa Cruz de la Laguna. Second, it helps employ and benefits members of the community. Third, the products made from the talented hands are priced very reasonably. We love handmade products that make an impact on local communities. We bought almost Q.1K of gifts. Highly recommend a visit.

We really enjoyed our stop at this store after a wonderful lunch at the culinary school upstairs. The textiles are so well made, and delicate. I bought several souvenirs at reasonable prices. The ladies who make the textiles are right there, so you can also watch them work. Well worth finding this place.

Manos crucenas is both a gift shop and a restaurant and more. The gift shop sells beautiful handmade local crafts; jewelry; scarves and traditional woven products which are produced by indigenous people. The products are very high quality and there is none and the items are priced, so no haggling necessary. For me, a regular visitor to the restaurant, I come for the view. You can hardly take a bad photograph anywhere around the lake, but when you get up here (a bracing five minute walk from the dock) or a tuk-tuk ride the added height gives an amazing panorama of a vast expanse of lake and sky. It doesn't hurt that the food is great and the staff are really nice. Maybe the best part is that the organization is a social enterprise run and staffed by villagers for the benefit of the local community.

The quality of these products are amazing. Everything is super beautiful and wearbale. You're spending a little bit extra to shop here versus the markets, but your money goes a lot further since you're supporting the vocational schools CECAP offers and you can rest assured the people who made these products are treated well and paid well. Definitely come visit!!

Wonderful variety of hand made products from local artisans, all priced fairly. The store itself is designed so that proceeds support the women artisans and their families. The best place to shop for all these reasons.

Prices are fair and it all goes to support the women and their families in this community. I loved choosing from the variety of colored scarves, dinner napkins, placemats, aprons, handbags, and so much more. They take credit cards!

Very nice selection of artisans' products at fair trade prices. This organisation trains fabric- and wood-workers, the result is some very impressive work.

The small store is one part of the Amigos de Santa Cruz non-profit organization. Local townspeople use Amigos looms and other tools to create their crafts. The staffers are very friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable. I purchased a couple of simple bags that included the town's very pretty individual tribal (?) pattern.

Santa Cruz is home of the awesome CECAP center that educates and trains local youth, especially girls, on civics, sex ed, different trades (from sewing and baking to carpentry and electrical work) and offers high school and college scholarships. They have a cafe and a shop that directly benefit the program. The Manos Crucenas is the shop part of the collective and it offers beautifully hand made textiles, scarves, coasters, table runners, aprons, wallets and bags, as well as jewelry and some other beaded items. All purchased directly benefit the local community and this really special program that aims at empowering the youth, and especially the girls.
