What a perfect ending to the day. I am in slow season (Feb) and we could drive our car right up to the last spot on the map. Understood how Coulter designed this rest spot! Still in tact after 105 years!

winter time is a great time to visit this trail. Just remember that no shuttle is running when you want to walk along way down the rim trail there too. We saw a herd of elk which made the walk even more special

Hermit’s Trail is a fine way to explore the South Rim. The tram will pick you up if you become tired. Any reason to explore the Grand Canyon is great. The Bright Angel Trail is more tiring and requires endurance. The Hermit Trail requires less...More

We got there at 6am and I'm grateful that we had. By 10 we needed to get out of the sun. It's an amazing hike and one that I'd highly recommend for any intermediate and above hikers.

Beautiful drive to Hermit's Rest. The shuttle was a long wait. You can walk or bike but it's a long ways. Worth the visit though. Large variety of snacks, rest rooms, water filling station & gift shop.

We rented bikes at the visitor center. We rented them for 5 hour package which gave us time to take the 21 mile trip to Hermit Pass. There are many awesome places to view the Canyon along the trail. Our small children struggled with the...More
