We took the waterfall trail and it was beautiful. Plenty of petroglyphs to view. The trail is well maintained and there are even benches for folks needing to rest. At the early hour we arrived (6:00am) there was already a volunteer at the trail head...More

A pretty cool place for having a party! Ramadas are available. Lots of open space for kids to run around. There are hiking trails, but be sure to bring lots of water and pay attention to where you're going. Entrance fee is $6 per car.

White Tank Mountain regional park is just on the west side of Phoenix. We went there to do the Waterfall hike, which is supposed to be one of the better hikes in the Phoenix area. It's ok. It's fairly easy, and therefore gets quite crowded....More

Our family enjoyed the Waterfall trail, great desert scenery, easy hike with a little bit of rock climbing to make our boys happy (not necessary on the trail but opportunities on the way). Petroglyphs were interesting.

Just at the west edge of the Greater Phoenix area is a museum, library and snack bar. Great for an easy amble or a more strenuous hike.

The only thing we saw was a couple lizards. However, that wildlife exists but are more afraid of us typically, especially if they hear you.
