I had to write upon being a little bemused by other reviewers. 'Inturn' of 'Ohio' - have you not grasped the concept of checking details before making a long trip (and Phoenix to Wickenburg isn't exactly the continent). And, if it was shut the first time you went, did you not consider it might be a good idea to check... More

The time and days that you can visit change as of right now its Saturday morning at 8:30 or 9:30 (sorry I forgot). This is really a neat place if you like old west history. The tour guide is very good. The mine is back open and they are digging all around the old buildings and in time they might... More

This is a mine abandoned in 1942 that is being brought back into production. Two main attractions: some cool ghost town buildings and tons of memorabilia in the "welcome center." And the tour itself is conducted by the new owner of the mine, and he does a great job of explaining the history, the rejuvenation of the mine, and the... More

we were in the area recently, and since we love all things of history, we visited. This place is very interesting, lot of artifacts everywhere. Amazing how it began and has been restarted a few times over the years as owners change and prices/technology changes. Hurry before the buildings slip away.

Decided to go on the tour, The tour guide was very nice and knew his information. Not a bad tour, wish we could have actually gone into the mine, buildings are in fair shape. The only negative I have is that it was very hot that day, but then, it is end of summer in the desert, lol.The tour was... More

A great look back into the mining history of old west. Discovered by Henry Wickenburg it reeks of history and conjures up ghosts of time long gone.

Phoenix wouldn't be the city it is without Vulture Mine. The gold that came out of this mine was how Phoenix got its start. The mine does not currently do tours but it is a nice drive out Vulture Mine road. You can see a lot of the old buildings from the road.

Unfortuately there is only one tour early on Sat. mornings. This is a piece of history that is a must. Very interesting and gives a glimpse into the life of a miner and a gold mine. Try to make it a stop on your visit.

The Vulture mine is open again due to the new mining going on in the area - they have cleaned up a lot of the mine, but you can't view most of the buildings in the area as they are off the tour path. The assay lab (which, looking at photos taken prior to the previous owners taking over the... More
