Good Hiking Spot

Good place to see lots of sites without the crowds. We were there on 4/16/17 and only a few people around. It was great

I lived on the reservation with my family mid 50's while my Dad ran a rock crusher on the reservation. We lived in a large one room cabin, no running water, or electricity. We hauled water from the trading post. My siblings and I had a grand time as we were about 10, 9 and 7 yrs. of age. We... More

The drive from Gallup to the Navajo reservation is beautiful with the scenery of New Mexico and Arizona in full view. Once you enter the reservation and see Window Rock, you realize what a great and special place the reservation is. The beauty is quite spectacular with the rock formations changing colors during the day. It has a peace and... More

This place is a must see if you are in the area. Besides the fact that it is "the capital" for the indians, it is with stunning nature. There are markets with the silver jewellery the navaho are known for. And other handcrafted items.

We got some really good photos in this area. A very interesting area. People are proud of their heritage and always seemed to be willing to chat and share.

We were in the area and just had to drop in. This is truly one of the wonders of the USA or should I say the Navajo Nation. There is a monument to the Code Talkers from WWII area. Admission was free. There were some Navajo jewelry artisans who were not pushy and were very delighted to talk with us... More

I have lived near and worked on the Navajo reservation for many decades. The wide open spaces and rugged beauty and the Navajo people are truly special. There is history, scenery, living culture and food to sample - definitely a must see part of the US.

Beautiful. Amazing, the site of window rock makes you how mothe nature created such a site. The Navajo tribe chose to create a memorial to the veteran code talkers. As a wife of a US Marine, this memorial brought tears to my eyes. At the time of our visit the flags were not flying nor were the water apparatus on... More

A quick visit, but most impressive and quite amazing. Well maintained - well worth your time! Good photo opportunity.
