Aravaipa Canyon is one of the most beautiful places I have been. We camped near the east entrance the night before our hike. The evening we arrived we found the cliff dwelling that is very well preserved and saw a family of Kudamundi's on the...More

Early May is a great time - temp around 90, water not cold and not very deep. Gorgeous, lush vegetation, birds, and great views of the canyon going in about 3 miles from the west entrance.

Our first trip to Aravaipa Canyon and we will return. Wonderful hiking in 90 degree heat and being refreshed by the water and breezes. And the scenery! Great area for birders.

Canyon is off the charts cool! Need permits so get them early. Most of hike is in water (5 to 7 inches) and can be cold.

Aravaipa Canyon is gorgeous. Spending a hot October day in one of Arizona’s few perennial streams was a grand escape. From the west entrance there are many cottonwood trees providing shade (summer and fall) along the river banks. We walked through clouds of yellow butterflies....More

I grew up with the family that owned the Panorama Ranch at the end of the road so I am a little biased. This is an incredible find for an enthusiast that loves, nature, birds, history, American Indians, Cowboys and wild animals. The canyons are...More

We hiked into Aravaipa from the west entrance. Even though it was over 90 degrees, the creek kept us cool. Nice treat for a hot day.

Took this hike the second week of November and it was a real treat for Arizona. The hike is in the bottom of a canyon with a year round creek. There is no established trail and you cross or hike up the creek a lot...More
