We left Flagstaff to drive to Santa Fe, and this was a great stop. Very interesting place with a highly knowledgeable staff. A bit expensive for a large family, but my elementary school aged kids really enjoyed the Meteor Crater.

Commercial buses routinely park there. The lot will accommodate a fleet of RVs and a few space ships.

Yes, you can do this on your own and in 30 minutes. Suggest you skip the museum and go directly to the viewing platforms outside.
