We stayed at the nearby RV Park, (which, by the way, was a great overnight stop) so we were able to get to the Meteor Crater when they opened in the morning. We had just driven past on previous trips on I-40, and this trip...More

This is worth the 10 minute drive off of the Interstate. The grounds are very well maintained, the information is very informative, and you get to see a verified crater from a meteor. They give a very generous military discount as well.

It was very cool to see what a meteor did to our planet and learn about the how's and why's. It would have been better if you can actually walk into the crater but you are not allowed. You don't get to many thrills for...More

Well worth the admission price. Facility is beautiful. Museum very informative. Staff very friendly and well informed. Don't wear your favorite hat as the wind is very strong. Several vantage points offer differing views. Amazing history.

Thinking back, I can't believe how hard it was for my sister to get me interested in going, but I am so glad she fought to visit this attraction! The museum was great to look around and learn things I'd never known before about our...More

There is a lot of history and geology to be learned at Meteor Crater. The process of how geologists decided this hole was caused by a meteor was interesting.

A visit to the Meteor Crater has been on my husband’s list since he learned about it in school as a child. The visit did not take us a long time. There was a short film and then we could choose a guided or self...More

A little of the highway, we are glad we made the stop. Super cool! The history and the researching is beyond fascinating. The museum is super cool and interactive. Really loved hearing that they are still a mom and pop family ran business. Also, the...More

The people are very nice. We drove way to far to pay $18 per person to see a hole. Winds were high and the tour cold. It was interesting but just over priced.

Google Maps shows 4:26 for the fastest route. However, if you're going to make the drive, you might want to follow old Rt. 66, and stop at some other attractions - in which case it could take you a lot longer than 4:26. At... More

Commercial buses routinely park there. The lot will accommodate a fleet of RVs and a few space ships.
