When Sam Walton opened his 5&10 on the Bentonville town square in 1950, he had no idea he'd planted the seeds for what would become the global leader in retail, saving millions of people money so they could live better. Today, that humble little dime store is the location of The Walmart Museum. A family-friendly experience in 3 parts, the Museum features a world-class exhibit gallery, Walton's 5&10, and The Spark Cafe.

We were in Bentonville for a single day, and, unfortunately, it was the day the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art was closed. So, there not being much else to see, we did the Walmart Museum. There's just not much to it, with the gift shop being more interesting than the rest of the museum. But, at free, the price... More

Don't pass this neither. It's a good museum, short walk museum, a lot of memorabilia, a movie is shown, the original Sam Walton's office. It's located near the first Walmart Or Walton's Store in front of the plaza. His Ford pick up truck is located in front of. A souvenir shop with A LOT!!! of old replicas, food, toys, gifts,... More

Very informative gave detailed background on company. Seems to paint a halo on Walmart & family as "givers" much opposite than reality of killing off the small town "mom's & pop's. " Does keep Bentonville thriving.

After dinner we wanted icecream. I thought it was cool to go through the museum first. They used beautiful downtown bentonville to keep history alive.

My wife, son and daughter were with me as we wended our way through this A/C oasis during a 100 deg F day. I like museums and so too does my wife. They give you a chance to learn something of the historical context of the area you are visiting if you take your time. My kids?....not so much. But,... More

This is an excellent place where you can understand more about Sam Walton and his business. This is a very entertaining museum for children and adults. My family came to visit me from El Salvador and I decided to show them a bit of Arkansas History. I'm happy they liked it!!
