The trail is rather well marked with white and yellow blazes. To find a good entry point to the trail start just past the local high school in Nagarkot. First portion of the trail is through the beautiful Nepalese forest. They were actually working on maintenance of the trail during our walk as perhaps it needed a little refresher. Overall the trail is relatively easy for average avid hiker. There are series of aged stone stairs where one has to pay attention. Many beautiful sites and plants, little springs and streams. You finally come out in a simple little village which you can explore as it has some tea houses and many nice view points.
You can come back to Nagarkot via the reversal of the same route.

Pleasant hike with amazing views. Starts in Nargakot and passes through the forest for about 30 minutes, then you pass through a village with some tea shops before following the panoramic scenic trail with stunning views. Takes around 2.5 hours in total (with a tea break) and is not too strenuous. Really enjoyable hike.

Great place to view beautiful snow capped mountains (Mt. Ganesh etc) while hiking in the mountains. Be prepared to be patient with lunch, dinner arrangements at local restaurants. Relax and enjoy the journey. Definitely plan ahead, keep local currency available and hire a local guide ahead of time if you can.

If you using Indian currency, usually only the 100 Rs notes are accepted or lower amounts. Standardized conversion rates based on internet and some amount of local flexibility. Remember the legal tender in Nepal is only NPR as far as I know. However, INR and USD maybe accepted by certain vendors at certain occasions.

It was a nice walk, sometimes not very easy to find but worth doing it! I can really recommend to do it!

Nagarkot is a great point to trek to for panoramic views and a beautiful sunrise. We hiked from just outside Kathmandu (starts with S) to Chisapani to Nagarkot and back down via a local temple over 3 days. It’s an easy trek for Nepal, although that does not mean it is easy by global standards. You need a reasonable level of fitness but don’t need to be a seasoned trekker.

Lots of roads and villages to go through which gets a bit boring but the Forrest parts and the views of the countryside make up for it.

If you have longer in Nepal and are physically active, then the annaparuna region or base camp are better. Having said that, if only in Nepal for a week or so then this sure as hell beats the tourist traps and pollution in Kathmandu

One night is insufficient. The sunset and the sunrise are gorgeous. The hotel I stayed in is comfortable, and it is in a great location for viewing the Himalaya mountain range.

The best way to get there is by taxi from the hotel. The fare for a route is $ 18. The entrance fee per person is approximately 350 Nepalese rupees. After seeing the morning in the Himalayas you can walk back to the first bus stop. Note that the bus will be very busy ... very busy
It is so beautiful to see the sunrise
